Blackpink’s Lisa Sparks Outrage With Rosa Parks Embroidery on Met Gala Underwear

How you like that…controversy Lisa is stirring with her Met Gala 2025 outfit?

On May 5th, when Blackpink alum made her debut on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, her stylish Louis Vuitton lace blazer and bodysuit, paired with tights, left spectators in awe due to its clever nod to the evening’s “Tailored For You” dress code theme.

On a more detailed look, viewers spotted what appeared to be a stitched image of Rosa Parks at the base of Lisa’s suit.

As one user wrote on X, “Just found out lisa had rosa parks embroidered into her UNDERWEAR.”

Transformed to: “I added an extra statement: “Why is Lisa wearing Rosa Parks in her pants? She’s one of the iconic women who battled racism.

One user posted, “I’m really puzzled as to why Lisa has Rosa Parks on her underwear. It just seems inappropriate,” another commented, “Using Rosa Parks, a civil rights icon who put her life on the line, as lingerie decoration is questionable at best. And claiming ‘Lisa might not know who she is’ doesn’t make it any better. Ignorance isn’t cool, and this isn’t a friendly competition or feud.

TopMob News has reached out to Lisa’s team for comment but has not yet heard back.

28-year-old’s attire, as stated in the designer’s announcement, were specially designed for Lisa by Pharrell Williams, who served as Louis Vuitton Men’s Creative Director and was a co-chair of this year’s event, sharing that role with A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, and Colman Domingo.

The jacket is adorned with intricate black lace patterns, reminiscent of Henry Taylor’s artwork, combined with the classic Louis Vuitton Flower Monogram. It also features hand-embellished crystals. The main part of the jacket is made from tulle in a similar design.

About the designs on the garments, the label mentioned that the lacework mirrors aspects of a piece of art by Henry, born in 1958, which features portraits of individuals significant to the artist’s personal life. They didn’t provide details about who these specific individuals were.

This jacket features a stunning design inspired by artist Henry Taylor’s work, as it is adorned with intricate black lace patterns that also showcase Louis Vuitton’s Flower Monogram. The piece is further embellished by hand with sparkling crystals. Notably, the body of the jacket is made from tulle and continues the same captivating pattern.

About the facial designs on the garments, the brand mentioned that the lacework mirrors aspects of a piece of art created by Henry, born in 1958, featuring portraits of individuals significant to the artist’s life. Unfortunately, they didn’t provide details about who these specific figures were.

In relation to the Met Gala’s theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the brand explained that their design, which combines tailored suits (tailleur) with elements from traditional dandy dressing and intricate corsetry and lacework typical of haute couture, represents a conversation between these two distinct styles.
