A mere seven days following its demo launch, the much-anticipated game Blades of Fire is now available on PC (through Epic Games Store), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The action RPG made its debut alongside a fresh trailer which you can view below.
As a gamer, I’ve just caught a sneak peek at the newest trailer for Blades of Fire, and it’s got me pumped! It offers a tantalizing glimpse into the game’s narrative, introducing us to some intriguing characters and hinting at the trials and tribulations we’ll face as we venture deeper into the story.
The spotlight is particularly on our hero, Aran, and his badass weapon – which is sure to be a key element in our journey. The trailer also showcases some stunningly vast landscapes that are just begging to be explored and battled through!
Additionally, the trailer offers glimpses of some awe-inspiring bosses players might face. As they tackle these formidable obstacles, Aran will need to keep honing his craftsmanship skills to create new weapons for himself. These tools of combat play a crucial role in the game’s advancement, as each type of weapon provides Aran with distinct move sets that can prove beneficial in various scenarios.
In the game titled “Blades of Fire“, players assume the character of Aran de Lira, the firstborn of the King’s Ward. Their mission involves confronting the malevolent Queen Nerca. This sinister queen possesses enchanting powers that allow her to transform steel into stone, rendering any weapons meant to challenge her rule ineffective due to their inability to cut through the now-unyielding stone.
A sneak peek at the game Blades of Fire was unveiled in March, offering a glimpse into five minutes of gameplay. Besides showcasing its action RPG mechanics, the trailer highlighted the Forge system, which allows the character Aran to create new weapons or enhance existing ones. The developers have emphasized that the game boasts an almost endless array of weapon types due to the Forge system.
In the gameplay trailer, it was demonstrated that Aran can wield up to three weapons simultaneously, and swiftly switching between them is crucial for the fast-paced action. This feature allows for reduced wear and tear on your weapons and also offers strategic advantages as different weapons’ movesets may be more effective against specific types of enemies.
Joan Amat, the lead game designer, highlighted the significance of the Forge system in shaping the main progression systems within “Blades of Fire”. Amat stressed that MercurySteam aimed to prevent players from becoming all-powerful magical beings at the end of the game. Instead, they want to maintain an appropriate level of difficulty and challenge throughout the game.
Amat said, “Turning Aran into a magic god at the end of Blades of Fire is definitely out of the question, isn’t it? Instead, there are plenty of other amazing things we could do, such as making his weapon shoot fireballs or other impressive effects.” But our focus here is not on spectacle. Our goal is to make everything significant and meaningful instead.
