Blake Lively Responds After Jason Kelce Reviews One of Her Movies

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for cinematic nuances and a deep appreciation for timeless stories that resonate with audiences, I find myself deeply intrigued by this recent discourse surrounding Blake Lively‘s iconic role in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Blake Lively agrees there could have been more magic in the pants.

Jason Kelce and his brother Travis Kelce recently discussed their thoughts on Blake’s 2005 movie “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” for the first time. Jason, former Philadelphia Eagles center, voiced his disappointment over the absence of magical properties in the pants. Not surprisingly, Taylor Swift’s longtime friend and Travis’ girlfriend’s companion acknowledged that Jason wasn’t too far from the truth.

@jasonkelce showcasing his innate talent as an investigative journalist, he uncovered the concealed truth,” Blake penned down on her Instagram Story on Oct. 18, referencing a clip from the New Heights podcast. “Author @ann_brashares disclosed that she incorporated the pants into the storyline post-book publication, as she received a suggestion to include an ‘enchanting aspect.’ It’s worth noting that this was during the Harry Potter craze, a time when there was a widespread search for magical elements in young adult literature.

The former Gossip Girl star explained, “She employed trousers as a tangible symbol to depict the mysterious power of female friendship – an unseen force that binds us together, whether we’re close by or miles apart. This is what I refer to as ‘The Traveling Pants.’

Additionally, Blake paid attention to Jason’s observation that the jeans appeared more like stretchy jeggings than traditional denim jeans.

She wrote, “The ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Jeggings’ didn’t quite resonate, but now it feels like ‘Sisterhood of the Printed Denim Pajamas’. I’m game for whatever comes next.

In a simpler phrase, the movie titled “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” features Blake along with America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn, and Alexis Bledel portraying a group of friends who grow apart but maintain their bond through a mutual pair of trousers.

For his part, Jason didn’t understand the logic behind the pants bringing the girls together.

He expressed during the October 16th episode of the New Heights Film Club that the pants didn’t seem relevant to the story. He admitted he was annoyed because the pants were made the central focus. He understood the reasoning, but felt that they contributed nothing significant to the plot. In essence, he said, “They seemed unnecessary. I found myself thinking, ‘Forget about the pants.’ It appeared as though they needed a reason to be in the club when they were already friends.

Yet, it was Kylie Kelce, his wife of five years, who managed to express to him that they represented an enduring bond of friendship.

He expressed, “I think I understood the significance of the trousers, but I had hoped they would play a larger role. Ideally, they should have some sort of magical property. Unfortunately, they were just a universal-fit pair of jeggings, which was slightly underwhelming for me.

Nonetheless, Travis and Jason found common ground regarding the acting, particularly Blake’s portrayal of Bridget Vreeland, the sports-inclined member in the group.

Jason commented, “She played Bridget beautifully,” to which Travis agreed, noting about Taylor’s friend, “Perhaps I’m a bit partial, but I found Bridget’s story the most relatable and enjoyable.
