She stated on October 10 (formerly Twitter), “For years, they’ve stood by Feeding America in times of emergency, aiding our relief efforts before, during, and after disasters. Now, these funds will assist food banks in delivering essential items such as water, ready-to-eat food, and supplies to communities suffering devastating losses and a prolonged recovery period.
Previously, Blake and Ryan have been generous with their contributions, supporting causes for children in Israel, Gaza, displaced families in Ukraine, as well as those affected by the Covid pandemic in 2020. However, they were not alone in showing charitable generosity during hurricane relief efforts. In fact, Taylor Swift made a substantial donation of $5 million to Feeding America before Hurricane Milton hit land.

Florida experienced severe destruction following Hurricane Milton, now moving towards the Atlantic Ocean. The hurricane unleashed an unexpected number of tornadoes across the state, left more than 3 million residents without power, and resulted in at least 11 deaths according to NBC News’ tally. The community is expected to grapple with the aftermath of the destruction for a considerable period, from incidents like a crane collapsing onto an apartment building to the roof of Tropicana Field being torn apart.
Nevertheless, several authorities, such as Governor Ron DeSantis, pointed out that the floodwaters from the storm surge, leading to significant inundation, were not as widespread as initially anticipated.
During a press conference on October 10th, he stated that while the storm was substantial, it wasn’t the absolute worst-case situation. He added that the storm had weakened before making landfall and the overall storm surge, contrary to initial reports, was not as severe as what Hurricane Helene had shown.
Meanwhile, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor applauded the city’s residents for following evacuation orders.
She stated during the press conference, “I strongly believe Hurricane Helene was the reason for this situation. It carries a powerful message from Mother Nature, one that is both literal and symbolic. This event seems to have made people more aware and heedful, leading them to evacuate and stay safe.
