Blake Shelton Makes Stunning Return to The Voice—And He’s Not Alone!

Blake Shelton is back!

Previously serving as a coach on “The Voice,” he’s making a comeback to NBC’s singing competition series for the first time since his departure in 2023, following an impressive run of 23 seasons. However, unlike before, he won’t be evaluating the budding talents this time around.

The country singer known for his hit “God’s Country” is returning to the set of “The Voice” for the May 20 season finale to perform a new song titled “Texas,” which appears on his latest album, “For Recreational Use Only.” This will be Blake Shelton’s first appearance on the show’s stage in two years.

But Blake won’t be the only music superstar lighting up the stage. 

Alicia Keys, along with Amanda Reid from Broadway’s Hell’s Kitchen, are set to blend “The River” and Keys’ popular track “Empire State of Mind” in a stunning performance. Meanwhile, Chance the Rapper will take center stage to groove to his latest hit, “Space and Time”, which comes from the recent project Star Line by the Grammy-winning artist who was also a coach on The Voice.

Another former Voice favorite returning? Kelly Clarkson.

The O.G. American Idol winner will debut her new song “Where Have You Been” during the finale.

Simultaneously, Joe Jonas is set to sing his new track “Heart by Heart,” while Foreigner takes the stage for a medley of fan favorites such as “Feels Like the First Time,” “Juke Box Hero,” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.

Completing the dazzling grand finale, we have “James Bay” and “Sheryl Crow” making their TV debut with a rendition of “You and Me Time”.

Not to mention, one of the five season 27 finalists will be crowned the winner.

Some fans might find it unexpected that Blake is coming back, given his previous statement about not intending to rejoin the reality show as a coach. However, it’s worth noting that he hasn’t mentioned anything about returning in a coaching capacity specifically.

Last year, Blake shared with TopMob News that they had starred in 23 seasons of the show, and they found it enjoyable. Furthermore, when they reached the final season, they felt it was the right moment to move on.

As a devoted country singer, I found myself compelled to return to my regular profession, which, of course, is what I love – pursuing my career in country music. Incidentally, this brings me back to where I met my lovely wife and fellow former coach on The Voice, the amazing Gwen Stefani.

The Voice season 20 finale airs Tuesday, May 20 at 9 p.m. on NBC.

Gwen mentioned that she finds him attractive, right? But let me be completely open here, it’s quite odd how we both experienced similar situations at the same time. In the area where I was raised, which is Orange County, you might not have visited, but it’s quite different from the heartland of America. Growing up, our surroundings were more about beaches rather than open fields. Consequently, spending time in Oklahoma and immersing myself in a ranch-like environment has been an entirely new experience for me, something I had never encountered before. And let me tell you, it’s been fantastic, extraordinary!

Gwen mentioned to Ellen that she has a soft spot for weddings, and it seems the children share her sentiment as they also adore him. In fact, everyone seems to take a liking to him. She even goes so far as to say he’s incredibly lovable. This thought often crosses her mind.

Gwen described her style as more feminine than it has been previously, attributing this change to being deeply in love with a very masculine partner. She admitted that during her time with No Doubt, she never considered herself sexy and even in her 30s, she leaned towards tomboyishness, seldom carrying a handbag.

Gwen expressed her feelings by saying, “Blake isn’t fond of photoshoots; he’s always resistant. So when he called me, sounding reluctant about having to do it, I encouraged him, ‘You absolutely should! You’re incredibly attractive!’

Gwen praised SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live guest, Blake, in September 2019, saying “He’s absolutely amazing; he’s practically magical.” In simpler terms, she thought that Blake was exceptionally skilled and had a special charm about him. She went on to explain that people are drawn to him wherever he goes, and he possesses an exceptional talent.

Speaking with The Guardian in November 2024, Gwen shared, “Finding my husband was like discovering a new lease on life.
