Bleach Creator Confirms Unseen Thousand-Year Blood War Content in Part 4 (& We Can’t Wait!)

As a longtime Bleach enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement as we approach the finale of Part 3 of Thousand-Year Blood War! The prospect of a one-hour special, encompassing Episodes 39 and 40, has me on the edge of my seat. It’s been an exhilarating ride since the anime’s debut in 2004, and now, as we mark the 20th anniversary, I can only marvel at how far we’ve come.

As the Fall 2024 anime season nears its conclusion, it’s been announced that Part 3 of “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War” will conclude with a one-hour special, encompassing Episodes 39 and 40. Unlike the first two parts, this season will feature an additional episode. In the coming year, fans can look forward to the final season of this beloved anime. It’s not surprising that the studio has exciting plans in store for its devoted followers. The official “Bleach” anime account shared a link to a special TikTok live broadcast on December 16, 2024, where the series creator, Tite Kubo, made a special appearance to discuss the anime. This anniversary year marks the 20th anniversary of “Bleach’s” anime debut.

Ten years following the conclusion of the original anime, the concluding arc of the series has been adapted into an anime. This announcement was made in four separate installments, with one installment being released annually since 2022. The story will wrap up in 2025 with the release of Part 4. The studio has managed to stay on track with each season, so it’s likely that confirmation for Part 4 will be made when Part 3 concludes. Meanwhile, Bleach creator Tite Kubo shared a special message about the anime’s final part during an unexpected live stream, as teased on the official anime account.

Bleach Creator Tite Kubo’s Cryptic Message About Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4

During a live stream on December 16th, Tite Kubo shared his insights about Part 4, stating, “I can’t reveal anything about the fourth season just yet. However, the fact that I can’t say anything might give you an idea of what’s to come. In other words, when watching the anime, viewers may find themselves thinking, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen this before!’ or ‘This isn’t something I remember from the original story.’ Indeed, in the fourth season, there will be episodes that might prompt such reactions as, ‘I’ve never seen this scene before.’

It seems clear, despite Kubo’s subtlety, that the final season is likely to include full episodes consisting of original anime content. In the Bleach TYBW arc, there has been quite a bit of unique anime content added, such as new scripts and even scenes derived from the light novels. Fans have always appreciated these additional elements, but it appears that TYBW Part 4 may surpass this by potentially featuring entire episodes that are entirely original to the anime. The first two parts each had 13 episodes, while the third part is set to air 14 episodes.

Based on Kubo’s involvement in the production team at Studio Pierrot, it seems reasonable to assume that the final season of this popular shonen series might extend beyond initial expectations, given his oversight of scripts, storyboards, and voice actors. Notably, Kubo played a role in character design for the anime and was also the voice of Kon in the OVA Memories in the Rain.
