For almost three decades now, South Park has chronicled the outrageous escapades of characters Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman, with creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker continuing to push boundaries without any signs of slowing down. Although the show is temporarily halted from producing fresh content, it’s still making waves in the news due to its ongoing controversial nature. Given its provocative content, it’s unsurprising that not all episodes can be found on streaming platforms. In fact, there are a select few episodes that are still prohibited and can only be viewed on a specific platform.
Regarding episodes that are growing harder to find, they involve “Bloody Mary,” “Cartoon Wars Part I,” “Cartoon Wars Part 2,” and “Super Best Friends.” Although each storyline varies in many ways, a common theme explains why most of these have been removed from streaming platforms. At the moment, there’s no confirmation that these segments will return, so fans eager to revisit them may find themselves disappointed if they try to watch them.
Bloody Mary
Among the listed episodes, only “South Park’s” fourteenth episode from its ninth season is currently available for streaming on MAX. This particular installment revolves around Randy Marsh grappling with his alcoholism and Stan’s father interpreting the group’s teachings in a manner that leads him on quite an adventure. The episode’s controversial content stems from Randy discovering a statue of the Virgin Mary, which inexplicably projects blood from a specific body part. This episode caused such an uproar that the Catholic League requested an apology for its release, and religious groups in New Zealand and Australia made efforts to have it completely removed.
Cartoon Wars Part I
In a somewhat contentious turn, the third episode of “South Park’s” tenth season, titled “Cartoon Wars Part I,” stirred up controversy due to its storyline involving Mohammed. The central plot of this first installment follows Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny as they attempt to unravel the mystery behind the creation of Family Guy, while also discovering a hidden truth about the Griffin family. At present, this episode cannot be streamed on any platform, with no plans in sight to change that situation.
Cartoon Wars Part II
The fourth episode of the tenth season of South Park, similar to its predecessor, was banned for the same reasons. This is because Cartoon Wars Part II mirrors the content of part one. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to stream this second installment online. It even includes some unusual portrayals of popular cartoon characters.
Super Best Friends
In the third episode of Season 5, several significant religious figures combine to form an extraordinary superhero team, dubbed the Super Best Friends. This team includes characters like Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, Buddha, Joseph Smith, Krishna, Laozi, and a comical version of Aquaman called “Seaman.” Due to its provocative content, this episode is not accessible for streaming at present.
The End of South Park?
Regardless of the numerous debates surrounding the popular animated show, South Park continues to thrive without any signs of slowing down. In fact, earlier this year, one of its co-creators, Matt Stone, mentioned that an end isn’t imminent and they are even planning more outrageous stories for the series. As he put it, “We don’t see an end in sight, and to be honest, it’s because the creative process is still so exciting. We are currently working on a movie, a live-action one, and when we return to South Park, it will feel like ‘Ah, here we go again. I can’t wait to rejoin those characters,’ to put it simply, but we truly enjoy making South Park.
