A group of employees who previously worked at Annapurna Interactive and departed in September 2024 are set to manage the collection of games that were previously under Take-Two Interactive Software’s Private Division label. This transition was announced by Take-Two Interactive Software, who revealed in November 2024 that they had sold this label to an unnamed buyer, according to a Bloomberg report based on sources familiar with the transaction.
It’s rumored that the secret buyer Take-Two Interactive Software declined to reveal is Haveli Investments, a private equity firm based in Austin. According to reports, Haveli Investments has entered into an agreement with the former Annapurna Interactive employees to finance their new company and let them manage distributing titles previously owned by The Private Division. Approximately 20 staff members from The Private Division are said to have been involved in the purchase, although some may lose their jobs as part of the new setup. The current management is encouraging employees to consider alternative opportunities due to the uncertainty surrounding the change.
The unnamed newly established company will assume control over Private Division‘s game titles and franchises, such as the upcoming “Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game”, the Kerbal Space Program series, and the game known as “Project Bloom”, developed by Game Freak. As previously announced, the title “No Rest for the Wicked” will continue under Take-Two Interactive Software.
