As a dedicated follower of Dancing With The Stars, I find myself deeply intrigued by the ongoing saga between Bobby Bones and Julianne Hough. Having watched the show for years, I must admit that I can’t help but feel a certain kinship with Bobby. You see, much like him, I too possess an inherent lack of grace and rhythm when it comes to dancing.
Bobby Bones is just going to keep shining his Mirrorball Trophy.
Following Julianne Hough, the ex-dance professional and current co-host on “Dancing With the Stars,” expressing her strongest disagreement yet about Bobby’s victory among all seasons of the dance competition, the radio personality shared his honest opinions in a video reply. He concurred with Hough, praising her as an “awesome” individual.
“Bobby Estell, aged 44, has no room for criticism towards Julianne Hough, a dancer he spoke about in an Instagram video on August 19. He shared that he was once a poor dancer himself and takes pride in it. He’s open about his efforts being among the hardest during the show, but sadly, he can’t dance now, just as he couldn’t back then.”
Regardless of not being as agile as some other dancers, Bobby remained proud of his victory in 2018, shared with dance partner Sharna Burgess.
“Together, we achieved it. I proudly claim to be an exceptional champion,” he exclaimed. “I consider myself as one of you. I’m the person whom you chose!”
Following Bobby’s victory, the rules for DWTS were modified to allow judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough to rescue one of the two lowest-scoring couples from elimination each week. The show acknowledged that this rule change contributed significantly to Bobby’s win.
As a former dance novice, I’ll admit my moves were far from graceful. “I struggled with rhythm and coordination,” I used to say. However, it seems the game has evolved since my departure, as the audience’s enthusiasm for dance has transformed the rules in a way that now favors those with less conventional styles.
On August 18th, during her interview on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen”, Julianne – a former judge on “DWTS” – was questioned about the winner of the show whose victory she vehemently opposed.
Fellow guest Mickey Guyton named Bobby and Julianne agreed with the pick.
Julianne gave a nod of agreement, stating, “Indeed, I concur with your sentiment. I believe the key factor is the fan base. In that particular show, it seems to be more about the fan base than exceptional dancing skills.”
Among the contestants she found particularly remarkable, Julianne highlighted her top five picks: Kellie Pickler, Xochitl Gomez, Iman, Adam Carolla, and Apollo Ohno.
Julianne is returning as a cohost of the upcoming season of DWTS, which premieres Sept. 18.
“Julianne described the show as her family and her home during an interview on Good Morning America,” she explained on August 13. “It’s where I feel at home and where I truly belong.”
