As a huge fan of Bocchi the Rock, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that they were releasing new recap films for the beloved anime! Having followed the story from its TV debut in 2022, I was blown away by how Hitori “Bocchi” Gotoh’s journey unfolded. Her shyness and introversion made it difficult for her to connect with others, but discovering her passion for music and forming a band offered her a chance to shine.


As a long-time fan of anime and manga, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear that “Bocchi the Rock!” is coming out with a new recap feature film. Having followed this heartwarming series since its TV anime debut in 2022, I was eagerly anticipating a new season, but I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by the announcement of a new theatrical release instead.

The first of these new compilation films, Bocchi the Rock! Hitting theaters across Japan beginning on August 9th, the new recap film has dropped a new trailer teasing its new take on “Seiza ni Naretara” as performed by its central band with a new trailer. Hitori Gotoh, known as “Bocchi-chan,” is a quiet and timid girl who often begins conversations with a soft “Ah…” During her time in middle school, she discovered a passion for playing the guitar. She believed joining a band could be an excellent platform for introverts like herself to showcase their talents. However, due to her lack of friends, she spent six hours each day practicing alone.

After mastering the guitar, she put her videos online under the moniker “Guitar Hero,” longing to perform at her school’s cultural festival. However, she struggled to find bandmates and was unable to make friends as she entered high school. Her social life remained stagnant, on the brink of seclusion. But then, unexpectedly, Nijika Ijichi from Kessoku Band contacted her. This small interaction marked the beginning of significant shifts in her daily routine.
