Fans of “Bocchi the Rock!” have eagerly anticipated the announcement of its second season for almost three years now. Just like Bocchi striving to perform with Kessoku Band, viewers constantly scanned social media and news sources in search of any updates about the series’ comeback. Their hopes were fulfilled last weekend when it was officially confirmed that “Bocchi the Rock!” Season 2 is under production. To mark this exciting news and a recent tour playing Kessoku Band’s tunes, a fresh artwork showcasing the harmoniously color-coordinated band members has been unveiled.
The recently made illustration was crafted by Yusuke Nakamura, who additionally designs the posters for the rock group Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Within the anime, there’s a sequence where Bocchi’s anxiety distorts her through various artistic and animation styles. However, you’ve never witnessed the Kesoku Band depicted in this manner before.
Concluding the Band Tour. We will be releasing a commemorative illustration soon.
The illustrator #Kazekissa-san has completed the commemorative illustration. It’s now arriving!
Performance starts today, February 15th (Sat) at 18:30. Band: We will B, members: Bocchi, Za, Rocky.
Stay tuned for the release of the commemorative illustration!

Kessoku Band Gets a New Illustration Ahead of Season 2
The poster signified a tribute for the actual Kessoku Band ‘We will B’ concert tour. In this performance, stand-in musicians portrayed the anime characters of Kessoku Band. This unique event unfolded in Tokyo, Japan on February 15th. The voice actors behind the anime characters – Yoshino Aoyama (Hitori Gotoh/Bocchi), Sayumi Suzushiro (Nikija Ijichi), Saku Mizuno (Ryo Yamada), and Ikumi Hasegawa (Ikuyo Kita) – graced the event with their live performances as their respective characters. They were further accompanied by a real band that played the entire album of Kessoku Band, accessible on various music streaming services.
The latest image showcases the Kessoku Band in a minimalistic drawing technique. Inside a kick drum’s circumference, you can see the band’s four members, each wielding their unique instruments. Bocchi, seeking to block out the external noise, is also wearing earphones. Scroll down to check the poster below: beneath them lies a few tiny structures, with a humorous representation of Godzilla causing chaos in the cityscape.
Bocchi the Rock! Season 2 Brings in a New Director
After the event concluded, instead of the usual call for an encore of “Bocchi the Rock!”, its creators stepped onto the stage to announce that the anime has been given the green light for a second season. CloverWorks studio will once again be at the helm for Season 2, with the animation from Season 1 being a standout aspect of the series. Similar to bands changing their management and labels, “Bocchi the Rock!” is welcoming new leadership.
In Manga Time Kirara Max issue 4/2025, you’ll find “Bocchi the Rock” by Aki Hamazi, as it’s been announced that Studio Clover Works will be releasing Season 2 of the anime!

In a musical metaphor, Yuusuke Yamamoto, who was the assistant director during Season 1, is taking on the main role as lead guitarist for Season 2. Apart from Bocchi, Yamamoto has also contributed to projects such as Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Oshi no Ko. Unfortunately, there’s still no word on when exactly Season 2 of Bocchi the Rock! will be released, but keep an eye out for further announcements!
