Kleindienst argues that UK and EU copyright law permits the examination of those distinctive features after a period of “five years without use.” This could be quite significant, given that Danjaq, LLC is a key figure in all James Bond-related matters. They co-own the James Bond copyright alongside Amazon-MGM Studios, and they also handle merchandising along with EON Productions.

It’s clear that these potential plans for Bond 26 from Amazon-MGM seem to be facing obstacles due to this legal issue. This could potentially mean more delays in the release of James Bond’s next adventure, adding another layer to the story of his cinematic history being postponed.
