As a passionate lover of literature and the arts, I’m absolutely thrilled by this incredible lineup of upcoming adaptations! Each story, with its unique blend of mystery, drama, and suspense, promises to captivate audiences and transport us to extraordinary worlds.
It’s widely accepted that as one exceptional year of book-to-screen adaptations concludes, another will step up to fill the void.
In 2024, the year offered a delightful array of adaptations that truly captured our attention, from the much-anticipated debut of “It Ends With Us” featuring Blake Lively, Brandon Sklenar, and Justin Baldoni bringing Colleen Hoover’s characters to life on screen, to Elin Hildebrand’s beach read thriller “The Perfect Couple,” which provided another mesmerizing miniseries starring Nicole Kidman.
2025 starts off with a big splash as another Bridget Jones movie graces our screens and captures our affections. Adapted from the third book in Helen Fielding’s series, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” this film titled by the same name features Renée Zellweger alongside both original love interests, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, with the latter appearing only in a ghostly manner. Additionally, there are new potential partners for Bridget, including Leo Woodall and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Additionally, following a missed summer with Cousins the previous year, “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will be back for its third season in the year 2025.
Jenny Han, the author who penned the trilogy that serves as the basis for this series, along with lead actors Lola Tung (Belly Conklin), Christopher Briney (Conrad Fisher) and Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah Fisher), have hinted at a lot more excitement yet to unfold. In fact, Gavin Casalegno referred to the upcoming third season as “magical”.
One that may just see Belly continuing to live and learn, Han teased.
She mentioned during the Teen Vogue Summit in November that we’re always there for her, showing understanding towards her and ourselves when we’ve stumbled. She acknowledged that it can be tough to watch characters struggle or commit errors, especially when they utter words they deeply regret.
Indeed, she isn’t the sole literary figure stepping into reality. The much-anticipated fifth season of “Slow Horses” will resume based on Mick Herron’s “London Rules” next year. Moreover, part two of the captivating tale of “Wicked” will continue to bend the laws of physics in November. Keep reading for a glimpse into all the books making their way onto screens as early as 2025 and beyond.

Why We Can’t Wait: R-Patz shines when things get a bit offbeat, and that’s exactly what we’re expecting from Bong Joon Ho‘s remake. The adaptation promises at least 18 instances of the Twilight star, playing a space colonist, who dies on dangerous missions but miraculously regenerates. However, there’s one instance where one of his clones inexplicably doesn’t perish and reappears to encounter the most recent version of himself.

This time around, Daniel Cleaver is very much alive and Bridget, now a single mom of two after the passing of Mark Darcy, finds herself in the midst of intrigue. Bridget’s love life seems to be as complex as ever, with a dashing young man, played by Woodall, and her son’s charismatic teacher, Ejiofor, both vying for her attention. We might just have to grab our seats early!

The movie mirrors our imminent future. I’m all in, although I must confess, there’s a hint of apprehension in my excitement!

This is the perilous situation that Knightley finds herself in, as she navigates through the Netflix adaptation of an earlier Ware thriller.
According To: The 2021 novel named the same as by Emily Henry

What’s Got Us Pumped: Henry has been making waves in women’s literature recently, so it was inevitable that her books would eventually make it to the big screen. With impressive performances in films like “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and “My Lady Jane“, Blyth and Bader have shown they could be ideal choices for the roles of Alex and Poppy.
As an ardent fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming series, a captivating adaptation from Patricia Cornwell’s blockbuster book series with an impressive 26 titles in total! As an Over-the-Moon Fan: I’ve been waiting with bated breath, and now it’s official! The day Collins announced her latest journey to Panem (releasing in March 2025), Lionsgate sealed the deal by confirming they’d be bringing to life the highly anticipated tale of a young Haymitch Abernathy—the troubled mentor we all know from the 74th Hunger Games, Peeta and Katniss included—during his victorious battle in the 50th Games.
