Borderlands 4 Fans Convince Dev to Add Combat Radar to the Game

Based on feedback from the Borderlands 4 community, Gearbox Software decided to incorporate a combat radar into the game’s HUD, even though the game was already deep into its development phase.

In a series of tweets, CEO Randy Pitchford announced that key team members and developers had coordinated their schedules to work on an exciting project. They successfully completed the development of a combat radar feature, which will be part of the game at launch, starting on September 12th.

In previous Borderlands games, there was a combat radar as part of the gameplay. However, up until now, Borderlands 4 only featured a compass at the top of the screen. But after listening to fan opinions and conducting recent press previews, it has been decided that Borderlands 4 will also incorporate a combat radar.

The function will not be turned on automatically; instead, you’ll have to visit the settings to switch it on. As Pitchford put it, “This outcome is thanks to the finest aspects of our community.” I’m referring to the genuine fans who truly care about the game and provided constructive feedback along with sound reasoning. You know who you are, and you’re amazing! You played a significant role in making this happen!

Over the next few months, the highly anticipated release of the PS5 game is approaching, and this weekend, Gearbox Software is organizing the Borderlands Fan Fest. During this event, they will unveil a new story trailer and showcase more gameplay from various content creators. It’s been confirmed that Borderlands 4 will sell for $70 for its standard edition. Additionally, there will be pricier editions available at $100 and $130, which come with up to six DLC packs included in the price.

In our Borderlands PS5 Preview, we expressed: “They’re refining the classic formula to make the weapon pickups feel more rewarding, and shooting them even more enjoyable and engaging. From playing two segments of the game during a three-hour preview session, it seems that this careful balance will bring Borderlands 4 back to the greatness of the second game.
