In their State of Play event, Gearbox Entertainment unveiled some fresh details about Borderlands 4, introducing us to two new characters: Vex, a Siren, and Rafa, an Exo-Soldier. The Siren, Vex, manipulates phase energy in creative ways, such as summoning companions similar to Trouble. On the other hand, Rafa’s experimental armor enables him to craft weapons such as Arc Knives.
Just like in “Borderlands 3”, players get to choose from three unique Action Skills for their Vault Hunter, each with its own skill tree. Gearbox claims that this skill system is their most advanced yet, featuring upgrades (augments) and final abilities (capstone abilities) for enhancing Action Skills. Additionally, the passive skills offer an exceptionally vast selection of potent and unique build options.
In addition, each Vault Hunter possesses unique characteristics that influence their gameplay. For instance, Vex’s Action Skill element alters based on the gun you carry. This means you can transform Trouble’s damage into fire, electricity, or ice, depending on the scenario, provided you are armed with the appropriate elemental weapon.
On September 12th, I’ll be diving back into the vibrant worlds of Borderlands 4 on my Xbox Series X/S, PS5, or PC. If you’re as excited as I am to explore the latest tweaks in gameplay mechanics and see who’s crafting our favorite loot this time around, head over here for all the juicy details!
