Borderlands 4 – Gameplay
What will Borderlands 4’s gameplay be like?
In Borderlands 4, you’ll venture through the world of Kairos, adopting one of four roles, where you’ll slaughter waves of foes with extravagant weapons, plunder their loot, and enhance your character’s skills to tackle more formidable adversaries.
In Borderlands 4, players will be called upon to delve into the expansive, extraterrestrial landscape of Kairos in search of potent firearms. Armed with these weapons, they’ll engage in combat against The Timekeeper’s forces and various other adversaries such as raiders and monsters.
In keeping with the customs of the Borderlands series, the forthcoming Xbox or PC game lets you choose from among four characters known as Vault Hunters, each possessing distinctive fighting techniques and skills.
- The Brute – A cyborg berserker who charges into the fray wielding a pair of battleaxes.
- The Siren – a woman gifted with an otherworldly power that lets her warp reality to her will.
- The Mechanic – a technician who supports allies with their gadgets and attacks enemies by activating a heavily-armed exosuit.
- The Assassin – a fast, agile melee-fighter who run and jumps circles around enemies to chop them to pieces with their energy blades.

Every Vault Hunter class offers unique skill trees that enhance or modify specific aspects of their skills, allowing players to tailor their gameplay experience according to their chosen strategy – be it head-on attacks, sniping from a distance, or assisting teammates.
In this game, your character’s skills can be significantly boosted by the extraordinary weapons you can gather, and believe it or not, there are literally billions of them to discover! These weapons typically possess both passive and active capabilities that unleash massive chaos alongside their already formidable firing power.
In Borderlands 4, there’s a greater focus on mobility compared to its predecessors. The gameplay previews suggest that players will have access to various extraordinary movement skills and gadgets during combat. These range from grappling hooks for traversal, swift dashes and slides across the battlefield, enormous jumps, and even the ability to hover in mid-air.
In Borderlands 4, you’ll find it essential to have a full arsenal of tools, weapons, and abilities at your side. This is because you’ll be facing off against some of the most challenging, ruthless, and lethal bosses that the series has ever seen.
