The excitement for Borderlands 4 is gathering momentum following an extensive gameplay reveal on April 30, 2025. During this revealing event, we got a glimpse of the game’s combat, foes, loot, fresh Vault Hunter roles, and much more.
Gearbox Software and 2K, the creators and distributors of the game, have chosen to fan the flames further by declaring on the official Borderlands 4 webpage that they will provide a new weapon skin for Borderlands 4 at no cost, along with Golden Keys for earlier versions of the game.
Here’s how you can get them!
To claim these prizes, you need to enroll in SHiFT, a digital reward system offering free game goods and advantages for Gearbox Software titles, engage with fellow gamers on discussion boards, and maybe gain entry to private beta tests.
To register, navigate to SHIFT’s official website and establish a new account. Afterward, connect your newly created SHIFT account with your chosen platform accounts using the ‘Gaming Platforms’ section.
When Borderlands 4 goes live on September 12, 2025, you’ll be sent an email containing a SHIFT code and guidelines for using it within the game. Redeem this code, and you’ll gain access to the stylish ‘Hazard Pay’ Weapon Skin.
The deal for the weapon skin remains active until 11:59 PM Pacific Time on December 31, 2030, which gives you ample opportunity to seize it well before then.
By registering for SHIFT, you’ll not only gain membership but also secure Golden Keys across several Borderlands games. To clarify, these Golden Keys are digital items within the game that open Golden Chests, filled with an assortment of randomly generated treasures.
It hasn’t been specified which Borderlands games the Golden Keys are compatible with, but it’s highly probable that they’ll work in the upcoming Borderlands 4.
Run and gun once more for bountiful loot in Borderlands 4
4th installment of the popular looter-shooter series, Borderlands 4 from 2K Games, appears to be an enticing, madcap adventure based on the footage revealed so far, and it’s slated for release on Xbox/PC.
The freshly introduced Vault Hunters exude an impressive, tough image. Their cel-shaded designs are visually stunning. There’s a plethora of wild weapons to collect. The adversaries appear formidable. The option to unleash chaos with my friends online through cross-play between PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5 just takes the experience to another level.
It’s been quite a while since I last played Borderlands, specifically the Handsome Jack Collection back in 2015. That being said, with the release of Borderlands 4 on September 12, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Windows and Steam, it seems like I’ll be dusting off my guns to embark on another Vault-hunting adventure soon.
