After numerous debates regarding a proposed $80 price tag, 2K and Gearbox Entertainment have officially revealed that the release price for Borderlands 4 will be set at $69.99 instead. Pre-orders can now be made on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, as well as PC platforms such as Steam and the Epic Games Store.
It’s intriguing that Nintendo didn’t reveal the cost for the Switch 2, instead, Gearbox mentioned they would disclose more details at a later point in time. Luckily, fans can anticipate the Borderlands Fan Fest livestream on June 21st at 12:30 PM Pacific Time. This event will unveil a new story trailer, gameplay demonstrations from content creators, and much more exciting content.
The anticipated release of Borderlands 4 is scheduled for September 12th, an earlier date than the initial plan of September 23rd. This shift isn’t due to any clash with other upcoming games. The story unfolds on the planet Kairos, where players take on the role of four new Vault Hunters, rallying against the oppressive regime of the Timekeeper and his troops in a bid for rebellion.
In addition to a smooth, uninterrupted gaming experience without any loading screens or maps, this looter shooter offers an “innovative skill tree” that’s said to be the most sophisticated yet, along with a fresh mechanic called Licensed Parts.
