As a thrilled fan, I can’t wait for tonight’s cinema premiere of “Borderlands”! Known for his chilling work on films like “Thanksgiving” and “Hostel”, Eli Roth is at the helm as director for this game adaptation. Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with Florian Munteanu, who takes on the role of Krieg in the movie. Fresh from his stint in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, Munteanu discussed the physical demands of the part and shared heartwarming tales about camaraderie among cast members. In our conversation, we touched upon Roth’s horror roots and questioned Munteanu if that influenced a distinctly different directing approach compared to previous directors he’s worked with.
“Without a shadow of a doubt, he’s got the right kind of madness for Borderlands. I mean, he seems like he could be a character in the game himself! I can’t think of any other game that captures such an intense and wild vibe like these ones do.”
“He went on to say that there’s a grim wit to it, isn’t there? It has a very somber feel, particularly in its depiction of cruelty and violence. And Eli, with his background in horror films, seems perfectly suited for this role. In fact, if you need someone who can create a bloodbath, look no further than Eli Roth. He was the ideal choice for the task.”
