Actor Brad Garrett has doused any anticipation for a comeback of the beloved American sitcom, Everyone Loves Raymond.
This classic show aired for 210 episodes between 1996 and 2005, and continues to be a beloved source of humor for repeated viewings. It holds a significant amount of nostalgia for its fans.
Nevertheless, though there’s been talk about the show potentially coming back with a revival series due to the current trend of nostalgia being lucrative, actor Garrett has dashed those hopes.
In an interview with People magazine, Garrett (the character actor who portrayed Ray Romano’s on-screen brother) expressed his belief that both Ray Romano and the show creator, Philip Rosenthal, concur that a reboot is unlikely to take place.
Garrett clarified to People that there will not be any more episodes produced. He mentioned this because it’s a statement that the show’s creator, Ray and Phil, have consistently made in the past.

The lack of a revival series stems from the unfortunate passing of Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts, who portrayed Ray Romano’s on-screen parents in the original show.
He also mentioned, “A performance is incomplete without the parents.” They served as the spark, and any attempt to imitate them would not align with the expectations of the audience or our dedicated fan base. The story primarily revolved around these two families, and it cannot be altered significantly.
Boyle died at the age of 71 in 2006, while Roberts died a decade later in 2016 at the age of 90.
In December 2024, Ray Romano directly stated to Yahoo Entertainment that there would be no fresh take on the American series from him.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel a sense of guardianship towards “Everybody Loves Raymond.” It holds a deeply personal significance for me.

On the contrary, Romano endorsed reboots in different nations, remarking: “In fact, I find it appealing that it’s been rebooted there as it underscores the universality of culture – we’re all essentially the same.
Previously, Romano had mentioned the demises of Boyle and Roberts as his rationale for refraining from continuing with the series during an appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher in 2023.
“We want to leave with our legacy with what it is,” he noted, according to Variety,
Everybody Loves Raymond is available to watch on Channel 4 in the UK and Paramount+ in the US.
