As a die-hard fan of Brad Pitt and Formula One racing, I can hardly contain my excitement over his latest project, “F1.” The dedication he’s putting into this film is nothing short of legendary! From filming at real racing venues to pulling off a dramatic stunt collapse that had me on the edge of my seat, it’s clear that Brad is going all out for this one.
Talk about the legend of the fall.
2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix spectators on Nov. 22 were treated to an unexpected sight—a racer falling on the track, captured in videos shared online. Surprisingly, this was a prearranged fainting act for Brad Pitt’s upcoming movie, F1, where he portrays a Formula One driver.
The fellow who fell, landing softly upon a slender mat, was clad in complete racing attire, portraying the character Sonny Hayes, an award-winning actor.
As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of worry when the report spread like wildfire about Brad Pitt’s health on social media. However, upon closer inspection, it appeared to be his stunt double who was involved in the incident, seemingly unscathed. Intriguingly, the two-time Academy Award winner was spotted engaging in a friendly chat with this action star on the film set, as reported by People.
In the movie, Brad Pitt portrays a former racer who re-enters the racing scene to guide his new teammate, Damson Idris’ character Joshua Pierce, within the imaginary APX GP team. After the daring fainting trick, they shared a playful comment on their Instagram page.
Yesterday didn’t turn out as we had anticipated, as Sonny unfortunately crashed during qualifying. It was a challenging time for our team, but luckily, Sonny is reportedly recovering well, although he’s still experiencing some discomfort.
Filming for the F1 movie started towards the end of 2023. The cast has shot various scenes at genuine racing tracks and competitions, including the Mexico City Grand Prix, the renowned Daytona International Speedway in Florida, as well as England’s Silverstone Circuit.
The message continued, “Thank you for all your support and messages, it means the world to Sonny and the entire APX GP family. We’ll keep pushing, together.”
2023 saw me diving headfirst into the exhilarating world of F1 filmmaking! As a dedicated fan, I couldn’t wait to witness the magic unfold behind the scenes. Our team has been graced with the opportunity to shoot at authentic racing venues and events – an absolute dream come true!
In the world of Formula One racing, Lewis Hamilton collaborates with Brad not only on-screen but also as a co-producer. Joining them are acting talents such as Javier Barden, Kerry Condon, Simone Ashley, and Tobias Menzies. This highly anticipated movie will hit theaters on June 27, 2025.
