Brad Pitt Is Back! Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 2?!

Cliff Booth is headed back into the action.

In the upcoming sequel to “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” Brad Pitt is set to reprise his character, the straightforward yet humorously casual stuntman Cliff Booth, as reported by Variety. Interestingly, Quentin Tarantino, who wrote and directed the original film, will not be directing this time around. Instead, David Fincher will take over directorial duties for a change, as Tarantino typically handles both writing and directing in his films.

To date, neither an official title nor a launch date has been made public, but it’s known that the project is underway at Netflix with filming set to start this coming summer, according to The Playlist. Additionally, it remains undecided if Leonardo DiCaprio will return as Rick Dalton in the movie.

In the 2019 movie, Brad’s character as Cliff Booth, an Army veteran turned Rick’s stuntman, was inspired by Hal Needham, a close friend and stuntman of Burt Reynolds. This role brought another Academy Award to Brad when he won Best Supporting Actor in 2020.

Before receiving the award, the 61-year-old shared the reasons that made it effortless for him to accept the project.

Cliff Booth, the stuntman, truly resonated with me, as I find myself at a similar stage in life,” he shared with W Magazine in January 2020. “Quentin Tarantino’s portrayal of him was captivating – a man content with his existence, aware of his commitments, and indifferent to those he wasn’t committed to. He sought the good in others but was not taken aback by their bad sides.

I could relate to that,” Brad added.” And he gets to drive through L.A. in a really cool car.”

This summer, before heading back to Hollywood, Brad is eagerly anticipating being behind the wheel for some high-speed action. The Academy Award winner will share the screen with Damson Idris and Javier Bardem in the upcoming movie “F1”. In this film, Brad plays a Formula 1 driver who decides to come out of retirement to guide a newcomer driver.
