Brandon Sklenar Weighs In On Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Rumors

As a dedicated fan who has closely followed Brandon Sklenar‘s career and personal journey, I wholeheartedly admire his stance on the recent rumors surrounding the making of “It Ends With Us.” His passion for the film’s message and its impact on women, survivors of domestic abuse, and those inspired by Colleen Hoover’s story is truly inspiring.

Amidst growing speculation surrounding the supposed feud between “It Ends With Us”, Brandon Sklenar aims to put an end to these rumors.

Following the premiere of the Colleen Hoover adaptation, rumors about the strained relationship between leading actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni (also the director) have created quite a stir. However, Brandon, who portrays love interest Atlas in the film, asked viewers to concentrate on the movie’s message instead of any supposed drama.

Brandon expressed to Access Hollywood that the rumors appear absurd to him. He explained, “Spreading negativity goes against the essence of this project. This movie holds immense significance for countless women and survivors of domestic abuse.”

He continued, “That’s what it’s all about, is making people feel heard and strong and loved. So to project anything but that seems counterintuitive.”

1923 star defended his choice to publish his August 20th statement, a piece where he strongly criticized the rumors circulating on the internet.

In conversation with Access, he shared, “I released it and thought, ‘Let’s see what happens.’ I truly value those who acknowledged its worth.”

In his Instagram post, Brandon emphasized that attention was given more towards the gossip surrounding the cast and their actions, rather than the significant messages contained within the movie itself.

In his original post, it was stated that “Colleen and the other cast members symbolize hope, resilience, and women striving for a better life.” He also mentioned that criticizing or vilifying these women, who invest so much emotion into this movie due to its powerful message, seems contradictory and takes away from the film’s essence. In fact, doing so goes against the very message the film is trying to convey. This can be rephrased as: “He wrote that Colleen and the other actresses represent optimism, determination, and women seeking a better future for themselves. It seems inconsistent and detracts from the movie’s purpose to criticize these women, who deeply believe in its message, as it goes against the very essence of what the film is trying to convey.”

And while warning against focusing on “what may or may not have happened behind the scenes,” he added, “It’s been disheartening to see the amount of negativity being projected online.”

Apart from mentioning Colleen’s story influenced him, Brandon shared how it significantly affected his life as well. He explained that a friend of his, aged 34, found the courage to exit an abusive relationship following the reading of the book “It Ends With Us“. This personal experience served as motivation for Brandon to accept the role in the film adaptation.

“He went on to say that this movie aims to encourage, affirm, and uplift. It aims to instill optimism, foster courage, and help people feel less isolated. In essence, it aims to spread love and raise awareness. Importantly, it doesn’t intend to portray women as the villain again. Let’s progress together beyond such stereotypes.”

He also asked followers to think about who they’re helping before perpetuating hate.

“Ponder over whether your views are grounded in reality, or if they’re just driven by a desire to belong. Instead, let’s unite and contribute to something more profound. Let’s be the architects of a fresh narrative – a story that empowers women and everyone across the globe.”
