Brassic season 6: Release date, trailer and latest news

As a long-time fan of Brassic, I must say that the upcoming season 6 is shaping up to be quite the rollercoaster ride! With the cliffhanger ending of season 5, it’s clear that things are going to get even more chaotic and unpredictable for our beloved gang.

*Warning: This article contains spoilers for Brassic season 5.*

Following the triumph of Brassic’s fifth season, it’s not surprising that enthusiasts can hardly wait to catch more episodes of this popular comedic show.

Well, it’s a good thing, then, that season 6 is landing on our screens this week.

The show’s enthusiasts can eagerly anticipate an even larger and more daring edition, as the entire group returns with another round of mischief and thrilling escapades.

From my perspective as a film lover, it seems that the new season follows these characters as they navigate their lives amidst shifting landscapes. Age is creeping up on them, and the concept of maturity hangs heavy in the air. Yet, I can’t help but wonder what ‘growing up’ truly entails for this unique group of individuals.

The series follows Vinnie (Joe Gilgun) and his group of friends in the fictional town of Hawley.

In the narrative, we follow Vinnie’s life journey, which includes therapy sessions and a series of exhilarating escapades, as he and his companions embark on diverse tasks to generate income while dealing with bipolar disorder.

Apart from Michelle Keegan resuming her character Erin, series creator and main actor James Gillan (also known as Gilgun) comes back to play Vinnie. The original cast members are also back, joined by some familiar faces like Bhavna Limbachia portraying Meena and Camille Cottin taking on the role of Fiona Frank.

Brassic season 6: Release date, trailer and latest news

Brassic season 6 will premiere on Sky Max and NOW on Thursday 26th September.

All previous seasons of Brassic are available to stream on Sky on demand and NOW.

If you’ve been wondering if there will be additional seasons of the show, rest assured, because Brassic has already been given the green light for season 7.

Brassic season 6 cast: Who will return?

In the upcoming Brassic season 6, the primary cast members are set to reappear. This implies that Joe Gilgun will once again take on his central role as Vinnie, along with Keegan, who plays Erin, Tom Hanson portraying Cardi, Aaron Heffernan as Ash, Ryan Sampson as Tommo, Parth Thakerar in the character of JJ, Joanna Higson as Sugar, and Steve Evets reprising his role as Jim.

In an insightful discussion about his role in season 6, actor Neil Ashton (portraying Davey) hinted at further developments for his character and his on-screen family. This suggests that the notorious career criminal may persist as a persistent nuisance for the gang.

As for else we can expect in season 6, be warned – as there are major spoilers ahead.

The finale delivered the surprise twist that Terence McCann (Ramon Tikaram) has been orchestrating a hit against the gang from inside his prison cell. We last saw the antagonist in the first few seasons, but it looks like he could make a reappearance in season 6.

In the last episode of season 5, it was disclosed that Dylan (Molony), despite initial appearances, is in good health. He communicates this to Vinnie through a voice message, expressing his longing for him and issuing a caution about Manolito.

Although some may assume it was a flashback, the voicemail clearly plays on Vinnie’s phone right now, suggesting there’s a chance Dylan might reappear in season 6, but this is currently unconfirmed.

The cast members that we’d expect to make a return in Brassic season 6 are as follows.

  • Joe Gilgun as Vinnie
  • Michelle Keegan as Erin
  • Tom Hanson as Cardi
  • Aaron Heffernan as Ash
  • Ryan Sampson as Tommo
  • Parth Thakerar as JJ
  • Joanna Higson as Sugar
  • Steve Evets as Farmer Jim
  • Jude Riordan as Tyler
  • Dominic West as Dr Chris Coxley
  • Ramon Tikaram as Terence McCann
  • Bronagh Gallagher as Carol
  • Samantha Power as Donna
  • Lee Mack as Eddie
  • Bhavna Limbachia as Meena
  • Dan Skinner as Phil
  • Carl Rice as Ronnie
  • Neil Ashton as Davey
  • Muzz Khan as Adyan
  • Johann Heske as Hans
  • Mark O’Halloran as Francis
  • Annette Badland as Rhoda
  • Rachid Sabitri as Manolito
  • Camille Cottin as Fiona Frank
  • Steven Hartley as Russell Hardwick

What will Brassic season 6 be about?

Brassic season 6: Release date, trailer and latest news

Following the shocking end to season 5, we were definitely left hanging with a big question mark for what’s coming up in season 6.

The final episode not only revealed that McCann (Ramon Tikaram) and Manolito have been working together to take down Vinnie and the gang, but it also revealed that things could be set to get more sinister in season 6.

Over the phone call, McCann appears to be issuing commands from his jail cell. He advises Manolito to take care of whatever is necessary, and as the scene shifts, a gun comes into view in Manolito’s possession.

Another significant twist in the finale was discovering that Dylan isn’t dead, instead he’s hiding out because Manolito threatened Erin (Keegan) and her son Tyler, forcing him into a life on the run.

Dylan acknowledges that he trusted Manolito and saw it as an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter in his life. Even though Dylan’s message to Vinnie appears quite conclusive, there might be a chance that Vinnie could reconnect with his old friend or try to bring him back to Hawley.

It’s likely that the sixth season will continue with its share of turmoil and mishaps for the group. With JJ behind bars, Sugar recently becoming a father (whose child isn’t necessarily his), and Vinnie oblivious to Manolito and McCann’s schemes, we can expect another action-packed season filled with surprises.

“Following a dramatic season 5 finale, the Brassic crew returns for another round. They’re trying to put their lives back together, yet things are shifting. People are aging and the concept of maturing is hovering overhead. However, what does ‘growing up’ entail for this group?

In a nutshell: “The MacDonaghs are reveling in their newly acquired power and stirring up more trouble. Vinnie and Erin attempt this ‘letting go’ phase in their relationship, while everyone else grapples with their own issues – family, spouses, children, and personal struggles, as they carry the weight of their past.

As a devoted admirer, let me say that despite its unique charm being distinctly Brassic, there’s an abundance of rowdy excitement that brings the gang closer together. Their unbreakable bond is repeatedly tested and proven in this action-packed series. Even the colossal tuna statue couldn’t halt their progress!
