Story: The New Year’s Eve celebration begins for Katya (Antonenko), Denis (Kosyakov), Vika (Olerinskaya) and Roman (Filippov) as they ascend to the mountaintop. They board a gondola lift, but unfortunately, it malfunctions, leaving them stuck midway between two mountains.

Verdict on Break

Recap

The film centers around four companions who board a gondola lift en route to a New Year’s celebration, unfortunately getting stranded midway up the mountains. As help fails to arrive, tensions flare among them and they begin to argue with one another.

Best Parts

This setup provides a neat and secure atmosphere for the film. However, as circumstances deteriorate, one can’t help but ponder potential solutions for their escape.

Worst Parts

The film appears to take some unusual turns, particularly in the rapid deterioration of their friendship. I find it hard to comprehend why they become adversaries so suddenly and how the story unfolds as it does. Additionally, it’s peculiar that no one regularly inspects the gear on a daily basis.

Final ThoughtsBreak has a great idea but not enough suspense.
