Bridgerton Author Says TV Show Plan Involves All Books

As a die-hard Bridgerton fan with years of binge-watching and book reading under my belt, I can confidently say that Julia Quinn’s words have filled me with an indescribable joy! With eight books in the series and plans for more seasons beyond Season 4, it feels like Christmas came early!

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that even though Season 3 of Bridgerton has concluded and Season 4 is on the horizon, the brilliant mind behind it all, Julia Quinn, has revealed some exciting news to People Magazine. In her conversation, she mentioned that the creative team, led by Shonda Rhimes, has grand plans for numerous couples beyond the upcoming season. This means that every one of Quinn’s eight novels could potentially unfold on our screens!

When discussing Quinn, it’s worth noting that she was struck by the fact that the team at Shondaland meticulously prepared their plans before the premiere of any episode. As she put it, “We needed to carefully decide which characters would be featured and which wouldn’t. It became evident to me that they had a well-thought-out strategy spanning a long period, and they were clearly considering all the books.” This was Quinn’s open admission.

She further confessed, “It appears I’ve been hinting at this all along. In simpler terms, yes, there are indeed arrangements [beyond season 4], but keep in mind that these plans may shift.”

It Will Be A Long Wait For Bridgerton Season 4

Although Bridgerton Season 3 has achieved remarkable popularity, we won’t catch up with our beloved family for some time. Showrunner Jess Brownell shared this news with The Hollywood Reporter following the Season 3 finale. In her interview, she revealed that we might not see Bridgerton Season 4 until at least a year and a half, or even longer, since Netflix viewers eagerly await the next installment. It’s a substantial gap between seasons, but recall that there was also an extended wait for Season 3 following the phenomenal success of Season 2. So, we’ll all be patiently waiting to hear about Benedict Bridgerton’s upcoming adventures when the time comes. (The show did offer some hints about our main character before the wait really set in.)

Brownell shared that he’s incredibly enthusiastic about the writing they’re doing. We’re nearing the end of the writers room season, finalizing scripts, and he believes this is some of our finest work. The collaboration in our group has been seamless, and we’re operating at peak performance. Fans will be thrilled with what we’ve created, he added.

The team is making efforts to accelerate the production process, however, due to filming, editing, dubbing into multiple languages, and extensive writing, it takes approximately eight months to produce each season. Consequently, we’re operating on a two-year schedule and are striving to speed up, but we’re still within that timeframe.
