Netflix has confirmed that “Bridgerton” will continue with seasons 5 and 6, and they’ve also shared when we can expect season 4. This highly acclaimed Regency romance series debuted its third season in two parts during 2024, with the first half premiering on May 16 and the second part following a month later on June 13. While it was known that season 4 was happening (as Netflix renewed the show for both this and the previous season back in 2021), there was no word on when it would be released – until now!
On May 14, 2025, Netflix officially announced that “Bridgerton” will have two more seasons added to its roster, making it a total of five and six seasons. In this announcement, Netflix also disclosed that “Bridgerton season 4” will be premiering on their platform in the year 2026. Although an exact release window for this season hasn’t been set yet, the patterns of releasing “Bridgerton” seasons 3 during May/June could suggest a similar schedule for the upcoming episodes in 2026.
What Netflix’s Season 5 & 6 Renewal Means For Bridgerton Season 4
Netflix Has Also Revealed The Central Character Of Bridgerton Season 4
The Netflix show “Bridgerton” is inspired by a series of books written by Julia Quinn, consisting of eight novels focusing on each of the Bridgerton siblings. So far, the television series has mirrored this structure, dedicating entire seasons to three of these characters’ narratives. Fans may anticipate that “Bridgerton” will continue adapting all of Quinn’s works, but this is not always certain. Fortunately, before there were any doubts about “Bridgerton” season 4 serving as a concluding chapter prematurely, Netflix announced seasons 5 and 6, ensuring that the series can proceed without having to wrap up the storylines in just four seasons.
In the upcoming seasons of “Bridgerton,” we can expect to delve into the stories of at least three more siblings, not necessarily in order as previously assumed. The twist was introduced with the announcement of seasons 5 and 6. Interestingly, Netflix has confirmed that season 4 will revolve around Benedict (portrayed by Luke Thompson), following the plotline of “An Offer from a Gentleman,” the third book penned by Quinn. Therefore, seasons 5 and 6 could potentially feature Eloise, Francesca, Hyacinth, or Gregory as their main characters.

Things Are Really Moving Forward Now
With the impressive success of Bridgerton’s first three seasons, it’s not shocking at all that Netflix wants more. Seasons 1 and 3 are placed at #5 and #7 on Netflix’s Top 10 TV Shows list, indicating a lot of enjoyment for viewers. What makes the news about Bridgerton getting renewed for two additional seasons so thrilling is that Netflix is actively working to advance the series. With delays caused by COVID-19 and the SAG-AFTRA/WGA strike, we’ve had to wait for our beloved shows. Here’s hoping this patience will be rewarded!
