In the Bridget Jones series, music has consistently held a significant role – iconic tunes such as Celine Dion’s All By Myself and Van Morrison’s Someone Like You being some of the standout tracks from earlier films. Given this pattern, it’s not surprising that the fourth movie in the franchise is also packed with music, aiming to impress once more.
In a later phase, the story resumes about five years following Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016), and Bridget, now a mother of two, finds herself single once more due to unfortunate circumstances.
Without much delay, a pair of new romantic prospects make their appearance, with Leo Woodall and Chiwetel Ejiofor taking on those roles this time around. They join the ranks of rom-com greats Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, who also reappear in the upcoming movie, albeit in somewhat unique capacities.
Scattered throughout the movie are numerous songs by renowned musicians such as David Bowie and Nina Simone. As the title suggests, it’s not unexpected to find Dinah Washington’s Mad About the Boy among them too.
