Bristol Palin Details How Son Told Her He Wanted to Live With His Dad

As an ardent fan who has followed Bristol Palin‘s journey since her days on Dancing With the Stars, I can’t help but empathize with her as she navigates this new phase in her life. Raising a child at such a young age and then watching them grow up and make their own decisions is an experience that only those who have walked this path truly understand.

Bristol Palin is sharing insight into a difficult time.

Approximately a week and a half after the celebrity posted about her son Tripp Johnston, who is 15 years old, moving back to Alaska to reside with his father Levi Johnston permanently, she detailed the way in which Tripp broke the news to her.

Bristol, 33, from Texas, shared on Cheryl Burke’s Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans podcast (August 26 episode), that she received a text from her ex-husband Dakota Meyer saying he wouldn’t be returning. Upon reading this, she expressed, “At first I thought, ‘I’m going to Alaska. This isn’t happening.’ I was so angry, furious.”

Eventually, the mom with three kids agreed with her oldest child’s perspective, realizing that the relocation could potentially suit their energetic teenager better.

The former star of “Teen Mom OG”, who became a mother at 18 and has only ever shared life with her son, Tripp, said, “It’s heart-wrenching for me to adjust because our relationship has always been special, and it’s defined so much of my life. Now that I have my daughters, the dynamics have shifted significantly.”

She went on to say, “At nearly 16 years old, he really benefits from having his father around. This arrangement seems to be what he prefers at the moment, and I can only trust and wish that it’s for the best.”

Bristol, who has parents Sarah Palin and Todd Palin residing in Alaska, has shown a desire to own a secondary residence in that state due to her frequent trips there.

In a heartfelt manner, I find myself expressing, “I yearn for him to always be by my side, he’s more than just a companion, he’s my cherished friend.” My children are the center of my universe, yet I recognize that selflessness is crucial.

Initially, she announced it on her August 14 Instagram post, the former Dancing With the Stars contestant explained that Tripp’s choice had deeply affected her.

She penned, “This first day of school was the toughest so far, as a large part of me wasn’t there.” At that moment, Tripp opted to complete high school in Alaska to be nearer his father and the whole family.
