Britain’s Got Talent fans are mourning the loss of a gifted alum.
It is with sadness that we share the news: Charlene Bellew, a skilled dancer who participated in season 13 of the popular UK competition series back in 2019, has tragically passed away. She was only 34 years old. This heartbreaking information was shared on a GoFundMe page by her family.
With deep sadness, we announce that our cherished Chantel has sadly passed away, as shared by family representative Daniel McErlean on the fundraising page. Chantel was not just a daughter, wife, sister, niece, cousin, or friend; she was an exceptionally gifted individual who brought joy and liveliness to every gathering.
Certainly, although Chantel didn’t progress too far in Britain’s Got Talent, getting eliminated shortly after her audition in the quarter-finals round, she left a lasting impression on the show’s hosts, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, popularly known as Ant & Dec.
In an Instagram post from March 2019, Chantel demonstrated how amazed the presenters were by her audition act. During her swift stage transformation, they even let out gasps of surprise. She also wrote, “Don’t forget to watch Britain’s Got Talent.
The audition wasn’t broadcast on TV, but Chantel demonstrated her exceptional dance skills off-camera. During rehearsals, she even managed to teach Strictly Come Dancing judge and accomplished ballroom dancer Anton Du Beke a few tricks about tap dancing.
As she wrote in a May 14, 2019 Instagram post, “Great Day teaching Anton Du Beke some Tap today.”
It seemed like they were getting along well, as Anton humorously mentioned in the accompanying video, “We’d be happy to help if you require a personal lesson – sending lots of love.
Apart from demonstrating her dance abilities, she also took on teaching roles at various studios throughout the U.K., frequently sharing the work of her especially proud students on her Instagram account.
In another scenario, Chantel is observed guiding a team of young girls through a coordinated dance performance set to “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from The Lion King. Excitedly, she remarked, “Watch these budding talents mastering some fresh tap moves.
Apart from her gift for dance, Chantel is also admired by those close to her as a warm, caring, and enthusiastic soul who spread happiness and amusement to countless others.
Despite Chantel’s cause of death differing from their own, Chantel’s family – comprising of Jill Dawson and Paul Ballew – are presently collecting funds for a mental health aid organization, as well as arranging a fitting showbiz send-off for Chantel.
In their GoFundMe description, they express their intention to celebrate her life and the remarkable effect she had on all those fortunate enough to know her.
