British Boxer Georgia O’Connor Dies at 25 After Cancer Battle and Miscarriage

The British professional boxer Georgia O’Connor passed away following a prolonged struggle with cancer, as reported by the Boxxer promotional company on May 22. At the time of her death, she was only 25 years old.

The promoter expressed deep sorrow with the death of Georgia O’Connor. In his statement, he referred to her as a valiant figure both in and out of the ring. Sadly, the world of boxing lost an exceptionally skilled, brave, and resilient young woman much too early.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as: From my perspective, I started my successful journey at a tender age, with a gold medal from the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games, a silver from the 2017 Youth World Championships, and a bronze from the 2018 Youth World Championships. However, for many years prior to announcing my cancer diagnosis in January, I had been battling ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis – conditions that affect the inflammatory bowel and liver, respectively. These are chronic diseases I’ve had to manage over time.

At that point, she asserted that she felt there was a significant problem, even though multiple physicians had dismissed her concerns.

17 weeks ago, starting in October, O’Connor has been experiencing continuous pain, as she shared on Instagram. From the beginning, she expressed her suspicion that it was cancer. Aware of the risks, she understands the high probability given her conditions – colitis and PSC, which significantly elevate the chances of developing such a disease. She is well-informed about her risk level, and so were they.

Because her cancer was not diagnosed promptly, it had already spread, and she developed blood clots in her lungs.

No doctor seemed to take my concerns seriously,” she explained. “Despite my pleas for scans and blood tests while I was writhing in pain on the floor, not a single one of them complied. Instead, they dismissed me, invalidating my feelings, telling me it was all in my head. They refused to examine me further or look into what was causing my pain. They chose to disregard my pleas.

Following her open disclosure about her cancer fight, O’Connor revealed that she had experienced a miscarriage right before receiving her diagnosis. Yet, despite this setback, she opted to maintain an optimistic outlook.

She posted on Instagram on her 25th birthday, expressing that despite having been pregnant with a beautiful baby, experiencing a miscarriage, and receiving a ‘terminal’ cancer diagnosis, she remains filled with joy and optimism.

One special moment was her wedding, which took place just over a fortnight before her demise. O’Connor revealed that she wed her long-term partner, Adriano Cardinali, on May 9th, and even shared pictures from their wedding day on Instagram.
