Brittany Mahomes Gives Birth, Welcomes Baby No. 3 With Patrick Mahomes

Looks like Kansas City just gained a new fan.

Brittany and Patrick Mahomes welcomed their third child, a daughter named Golden Raye Mahomes, on January 12th. They revealed the happy news through a sweet Instagram post on January 13th, featuring a heartwarming image of their hands holding their newborn’s tiny feet.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “My partner and I, parents to Sterling, our 3-year-old daughter, and Bronze, our 2-year-old son, announced in July that we were expecting another child, with a heartfelt Instagram post that read ‘Round three, here we come.’ This joyous news is the culmination of a long-held plan, one that dates back over a decade.

Brittany and Patrick’s love story began when they were high school sweethearts. They even attended their prom together back in 2014. Consequently, their initial romantic days were captured through snapshots and Instagram posts as they cheered each other on during their college years. While Brittany was playing soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler, Patrick was leading his team at Texas Tech.

After completing her studies and a brief career with an Icelandic soccer club, along with being drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL, she and her partner (who got married in Hawaii in March 2022 after the arrival of their child Sterling) became business partners as well. They jointly own a professional soccer team based in Kansas City.

And now three kids—and three Super Bowl rings—later, they’re among the NFL’s most winning pairs.

Despite appearing like a smooth ride to success, Brittany’s journey has had its fair share of unforeseen twists and turns. Over the past few months, she’s openly discussed her struggles with postpartum hair loss and a back injury stemming from pelvic floor issues related to her previous pregnancies.

In a July Instagram post, the ex-soccer player openly discussed some challenges she faced during her third pregnancy, stating, “This pregnancy has taken a toll on me – nausea, fatigue, and now discomfort with my skin.

Regarding the obstacles she faces, a mother of three shared during the August 28th episode of the Whoop podcast that making her health and physical wellbeing top priority is her main strategy.

In simpler terms, the new addition to the couple’s sports team now plays alongside Sterling and Bronze, who are older siblings. This brings the total number of Mahomes family members on the team to five, completing their ideal lineup as Patrick announced during a press conference for the Chiefs in July. The 28-year-old said, “I’m finished,” emphasizing that he meant what he had previously stated – three new teammates and that’s all.

Even though they have finished expanding their family, they eagerly anticipate creating more cherished memories with their children. As Patrick expressed during the July press conference, “We continue to go out and live our lives, offering our kids a glimpse of these wonderful experiences.” Whenever I’m with my family, I strive to savor those precious moments.

Although their children’s future interests remain undetermined currently, Patrick shared with TopMob News during the 2024 Chiefs Ring ceremony that his family is quite fond of Taylor Swift. However, he expressed hope that they would also come to enjoy the players and the sport.

Earlier, he expressed to TopMob News his desire for them to engage in sports, as he and Brittany had similar experiences playing sports throughout their childhood. He believes that sports, regardless of the type, offer numerous valuable lessons.

Brittany is now taking on the part of a soccer mom for her oldest child, Sterling. Lately, she posted a photo of Sterling’s soccer equipment on Instagram and expressed, “She’ll shine brighter than anyone else out there, you should see her!
