Brittany Renner, Kevin Gates Divorce After 52 Days of Marriage

Brittany Renner and Kevin Gates have went their separate ways.

The reality TV personality from “Basketball Wives” announced that she and the musician known as “I Don’t Get Tired” rapper have split up, having been wed for only a short period – under two months.

Brittany, aged 33, shared with REAL 92.3 LA during an interview on June 7 that she got married on April 6 and divorced on May 28. However, in Islam there’s a 90-day waiting period after marriage where the purpose is to determine if the wife might be pregnant, making the husband responsible for child support. Additionally, this time is also intended for reconciliation as Allah encourages married couples to stay together. During these 90 days, it’s prohibited to pursue romantic relationships with others.

Regarding their short-lived 52-day marriage, Brittany expressed no uncertainty about its legitimacy.

Additionally, she noted that she had listened to her feelings, which isn’t always common in this world. I believe few people get married without the intention of staying married. So, for me, it’s about taking a 90-day break, focusing on my personal growth, and nurturing myself.

She went on, “It’s not a bad circumstance, I believe that whatever is destined will always come to pass.

Brittany, mother to four-year-old P.J. Washington III with her ex P.J. Washington, was speculated to be engaged to Kevin in May when she showed off a diamond ring on her ring finger during the season 11 premiere of “Basketball Wives”. This came just one month after they announced their relationship publicly on Instagram.

The next day, Brittany added more fuel to the rumors surrounding their relationship by calling the “Feel” rapper her husband.

In her now-deleted Instagram post dated May 4th, Brittany stated, “Although you’re not suitable for this specific show, that makes you a perfect fit for it.” She also shared, “At the Basketball Wives Season 12 premiere party last night with my husband.

Brittany, having embraced Islam not long ago, expressed her gratitude for her husband’s backing as she navigated a new phase of her life in the VH1 reality show.

Brittany shared with People in an interview on May 5th that she is with the person she’s long dreamt of. She finds it unbelievable to wake up next to him and spend time with him, almost like a dream come true. He is the most beautiful individual, both inside and out, she has ever encountered.
