Bruce Campbell Wants a Burn Notice Revival

Bruce Campbell Wants a Burn Notice Revival

As a seasoned gamer of the small screen, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia and excitement at the prospect of Bruce Campbell bringing back “Burn Notice”. The series was a thrilling rollercoaster ride that kept me on the edge of my seat for seven whole seasons! The idea of Michael Westen, Sam Axe, and the rest of the gang taking down more international scumbags has me grinning ear to ear.

Bruce Campbell expresses that following viewers wrapping up with his latest venture titled “Hysteria”, he plans to develop another movie inspired by the spy series “Burn Notice” from USA Network, created by Matt Nix. Campbell played the role of Sam Axe in this show which ran for seven seasons on USA. He also starred in “Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe”, a film spin-off that was released in 2011. The series primarily revolved around Michael Westen, a former spy who had been blacklisted by the CIA. It chronicled his quest to uncover who betrayed him and why, while simultaneously dealing with the fact that everyone he had ever crossed paths with now had an opportunity to try and eliminate him.

Apart from the TV film, the series Burn Notice was expanded through a set of tie-in novels and a digital comic. These additional media focused on a side mission, deepening the bond between Michael and his former spy partner, Fiona, his ex-girlfriend. The show concluded in 2013, with its final episode achieving record ratings for the series.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my longing to resurrect the captivating series, “Burn Notice”. It’s high time we revisit the global menace that still lurks in the shadows. Fortunately, none of our beloved cast members from both real life and their characters have met an untimely end. So, let’s consider a two-hour movie as a tantalizing appetizer. I’m advocating for this, just like they did with “Monk” – it returned with a brief two-hour movie. Prepare yourselves, as I believe the taste of “Burn Notice” is about to satisfy our cravings once more.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to say, it’s not just about Mr. Monk’s Last Case that keeps me entertained these days. The Monk movie from USA has been resurrected as Psych, which wrapped up back in 2014, is now gracing our screens with three direct-to-Peacock movies and counting. And let me tell you, Suits, which had an incredible summer run on Netflix last year, is cooking up a spinoff featuring Stephen Amell!

After the conclusion of Burn Notice, several cast members have remained active in their careers. Nix, among others, has functioned as a writer, producer, or showrunner on shows like The Gifted, Turner & Hooch, and the 2023 adaptation of True Lies. Jeffrey Donovan, who portrayed Michael, has made appearances on Law & Order. Gabrielle Anwar, known for her role as Fiona, held a substantial part in season seven of Once Upon a Time, but has been relatively absent from the limelight over the past five years.

USA Network announced last year that it would draw inspiration from the success of shows like Suits, by creating more programming similar to their “Blue Sky” era, characterized by hits such as Monk, Psych, Suits, White Collar, Burn Notice, along with other beloved series that have not performed as well on streaming platforms, such as Royal Pains and Covert Affairs.
