Bruce Springsteen fans have been given a gift in the form of never-before-heard music.
As a devoted film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that a venerable musical icon, aged 75, is planning to unveil an extraordinary series of albums – tracks that were previously hidden from the world and are now being brought to light in a new compilation titled “Tracks II: The Lost Albums.
Among them is Blind Spot, a song that was central to the Streets of Philadelphia Sessions.
For decades, Bruce Springsteen fans have cherished the 10-song album, and it gained notoriety in the mid-90s as what is believed to be his “looping” record.
Drawing inspiration from the Academy Award-winning movie with the same title, the music was shaped around modern techniques involving a loop pedal and the rhythmic beats of West Coast hip-hop.
Although there were plans to launch it back in 1995, it ended up being delayed indefinitely and remained unseen – until this very moment.

Title Focuses on Uncertainty and Deception Within Relationships, as Springsteen Explains: “At that point, I found myself fixated on this theme. Frankly, I’m not sure why. Patti and I were enjoying ourselves immensely in California.
Occasionally, when you find a track you really enjoy, it leads you down a path. In my case, I started with “Blind Spot” and continued following that path throughout the album.
After finishing the Streets of Philadelphia Sessions, Springsteen got back together with his E-Street Band and has been touring with them ever since. This is a practice he still maintains today.
Regarding his decision, he mentioned, “I’ve always had a soft spot for The Streets of Philadelphia Sessions. During the staging of the Broadway show, I considered releasing it independently. I never completely discard these ideas, but I don’t entirely abandon them either.
In the upcoming release, “The Streets of Philadelphia Sessions” is one of the seven albums’ worth of previously unseen material included in “Tracks II: The Unreleased Albums Collection”.
