Bryan Danielson Opens Up About WWE's "For The Better" Changes Since He Left For AEW

As a fan who has witnessed Bryan Danielson‘s transformative journey, I can confidently say that his decision to leave WWE and join AEW was not just a wise move, but a bold one that has paid off handsomely. The American Dragon’s tenure at WWE was nothing short of iconic, but the man is all about progress and improvement, both for himself and the wrestling industry as a whole.

Today’s WWE, which Daniel Bryan left three years ago, is drastically different from what it is now. After ending his WWE career in April 2021, Bryan Danielson moved to the newly established All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in August of the same year. In September 2021, he made his official debut, blending elements of his WWE character with the independent “American Dragon” persona he had showcased before joining televised wrestling.

The American Dragon prefers what All Elite Wrestling provides.

To The Gorilla Position, Bryan Danielson made it clear that he’s been fully committed to his decision to leave WWE, regardless of any changes in power dynamics within the company during his time away.

“Danielson responded, ‘Absolutely not.’ He explained, ‘I see things differently. Clearly, things have improved significantly over there. For me, it boils down to a few points: firstly, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Secondly, many people, including myself, seem to prefer the style in AEW. It’s more wrestling-centric rather than drama-focused. Lastly, I appreciate the existence of an alternative.'”

Over the last three years, I’ve found my matches and rivalries have revolved primarily around in-ring combat, which is quite a change from my WWE days. Back then, my narratives with the late Bray Wyatt and The Miz delved into the supernatural realm and soap opera drama, respectively.

When considering my decision to depart from WWE, it’s important to clarify that I never had a dislike for WWE. Instead, I chose not to speak negatively about them because I had a great time there and formed strong relationships with my colleagues. Those individuals remain my friends today. One of the main reasons for my departure was the opportunity to contribute to an initiative that enhances the wrestling industry for everyone involved. The existence of AEW, in particular, is beneficial for all of us. Additionally, I find the style of AEW more appealing compared to other wrestling styles.

On the thrilling day of August 25th, I, a passionate fan, will step up to challenge Swerve Strickland for the prestigious AEW World Championship at AEW ALL IN: London. The anticipation is palpable!
