In a touching tribute, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, who was known for her role as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, honored her screen sister Michelle Trachtenberg following her passing.
This week, at the age of 39, Trachtenberg passed away. The Medical Examiner in New York is looking into the cause, though there’s no indication of any suspicious activities.
The actress became well-known for various characters she portrayed, notably playing Dawn Summers, the younger sister of Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, who made her debut in the fifth season.
Gellar, who took on the main character, posted a set of pictures featuring him and another person, using a popular phrase from the Buffy episode titled “The Gift” as a heartfelt homage.
Gellar is among a group of celebrities such as Alyson Hannigan (Willow), James Marsters (Spike), David Boreanaz (Angel), along with some of Trachtenberg’s co-stars from Gossip Girl like Blake Lively, Ed Westwick, and Taylor Momsen. They have all shown respect in their own way.
Sarah Hannigan expressed her deep sadness upon learning about Michelle’s passing. Her warm spirit greatly enlivened the Buffy set, and my sympathies go out to Michelle’s loved ones during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, Boreanaz added: “So very sad…horrible news. RIP and prayers to her and her family.”
Today, Marsters expressed his deep sorrow. We’ve tragically lost an exceptional spirit. Michelle was not only brilliant but also hilariously witty, and she excelled in numerous talents. Her life was cut far too short, leaving behind countless individuals who cherished her dearly.
My deepest sympathies are with Michelle’s loved ones, who are genuinely kind individuals experiencing an unimaginable grief. May they be granted privacy during this challenging period as they cope with their profound sorrow. Farewell, Michelle. Your presence will surely be felt and longed for.
