From the moment Buffy first staked her claim on our hearts, I’ve been hooked. And now, with the introduction of figures like Buffy, Spike, The Gentleman, and Angelus, my collection is one step closer to being truly Slayer-worthy.
Back in 2014, Funko introduced Pop figures based on the beloved TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Four years later, they released a collection to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary. Now, after some time, Funko is revisiting the Buffy universe with a fresh wave of figurines. This new set comprises characters like Buffy, Spike, one of The Gentleman, and Angel in his Angelus vampire form.

Will Buffy the Vampire Slayer Get a Reboot?
The TV series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” written and directed by Joss Whedon, originally aired from 1997 to 2003 for seven seasons, following the storyline of the 1992 movie. Given its popularity, one might expect a remake or reboot, but as of now, no such project has been developed. Nevertheless, there have been sporadic discussions about it over the years, with the latest news surfacing in January of this year. Dolly Parton, who served as a producer on the show, shared an update on the potential revival at that time.
According to Parton, they haven’t finished with it yet. They’re contemplating reintroducing it and giving it a fresh update.
As a gamer, I found it intriguing to learn that Dolly Parton was behind the production of this series, but what’s even more uncommon is her role as the spokesperson for the project. It wasn’t until February last year, during Sarah Michelle Gellar’s chat on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, that fans like me discovered the singer’s involvement in the show at all.
In a chat on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in February 2023, Sarah Michelle Gellar revealed an interesting tidbit: “Indeed, Dolly Parton is not just a legend but also a producer,” she said. “We rarely interacted with her, but we’d receive Christmas presents signed with our names. I thought, ‘She doesn’t recognize me.’ Then one day, someone asked her about it, and she praised the show and my acting. It was a moment of pure joy for me, knowing that Dolly Parton acknowledges my work and considers me talented.”
