Bully Leak Points to Re-Release on Modern Platforms

As a long-time devotee of Rockstar Games, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia at the prospect of Bully making a comeback. Having grown up with this game, its quirky humor and schoolyard antics were a refreshing departure from the gritty urban landscapes of Grand Theft Auto. If these Taiwanese ratings are accurate, it seems Rockstar might be dipping back into their bag of tricks to bring Bully to modern consoles.

It appears that Bully, from Rockstar Games, might be making a return to contemporary gaming platforms according to recent leaks. In the past few years, Rockstar has been keeping a low profile as they focus on the release of Grand Theft Auto VI scheduled for 2025. To fill this gap, they have released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and a new version of Red Dead Redemption for PS4 and Switch. Now, it seems like Bully could be next in line to reappear, but the specifics are yet to be revealed.

According to Gematsu, the game “Bully” has been rated in Taiwan for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC platforms. The listing didn’t provide further details like a release date or whether this is a full remaster or just a port. However, the fact that it’s been listed on Taiwan’s game ratings site suggests that this development might be genuine, as such leaks are usually accurate.

For over a decade since its debut in 2006, Rockstar Games has largely left Bully untouched. However, it was adapted for Xbox 360 and PC in 2008 and made its way onto mobile devices in 2016. Throughout this period, devoted fans of the game have persistently demanded a sequel, with hints suggesting that such a project might have been underway within Rockstar at some point. Despite these calls, Rockstar Games has decided to concentrate on Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto V, and the development of Grand Theft Auto VI instead of revisiting Bully.

If it’s true that Bully is going to come out in a fresh form soon, we could get an official announcement about it quite quickly. Typically, game ratings are one of the last stages before a game is launched across multiple platforms. So, if Rockstar Games has updates on this new edition of Bully in the near future, we’ll make sure to keep you posted here on ComicBook as soon as we receive more information.
