Bus Bound Is the PS5 Public Transport Sim of Your Dreams

Frequent visitors to Push Square are aware that we have a soft spot for transit simulation games, and we’ve long admired the Bus Simulator series developed by Stillalive.

Upcoming game “Bus Bound,” slated for release on PlayStation 5 at a currently undisclosed date, appears to be the next step forward in the studio’s ongoing development.

In a recent statement for the media, executive Julian Mautner explained that we needed some time to carefully consider what our fans desired most when it comes to their bus-riding experience.

Using Bus Bound, we aimed to create an enjoyable core experience by designing the feel of the bus and the player’s interaction with the city in a manner that is approachable for beginners yet stimulating for our dedicated followers.

The game transports you into the imaginary town of Emberville, offering an intricate open-world environment filled with connected weather patterns, traffic, crowds, and a realistic day and night cycle.

As I traverse the cityscape, from pulsating crossroads to tranquil residential zones, each location seems to beat with a unique tempo, and my journey through them carves out their destiny for tomorrow. (Gamer’s Perspective)

As you advance in the game, the city will adapt according to the transportation networks you establish. This means that as you uncover and enhance stations, businesses and industries will gradually appear in those areas, following the connections you create across the city.

The new approach is quite appealing: we appreciate the emphasis on the simulation, yet we hope some elements of the tycoon gameplay remain.
