As a seasoned Call of Duty fan who’s seen the evolution of the series since its early days, I can’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia with the announcement of Infected mode and Nuketown map coming to Black Ops 6. These additions are like old friends returning home, reminding me of countless hours spent in virtual battlefields.
The latest installment in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, has only been out for a few days, but as with previous titles in this franchise, developer Treyarch continues to work on additional content that they plan to roll out over the next several weeks and months. In fact, some of these updates are nearly ready to be released.
This week on Twitter, Treyarch announced that they will be introducing a new mode and map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, the multiplayer mode Infected, where zombies roam, will be accessible to all players. Additionally, the popular series mainstay map Nuketown is scheduled to launch on Friday. These additions are sure to delight long-time fans of the series and are a great bonus for everyone else as well.
Launched just recently, Black Ops 6 faced some player critiques on Steam. However, it also garnered a substantial following on the platform, peaking at over 306,000 concurrent players, outperforming the numbers for Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Launch was only the beginning.
Tomorrow, the Infected are coming to play. Nuketown joins the party on Friday.
