As a seasoned Call of Duty gamer with countless hours spent slaying zombies, the news about the save-and-quit feature in Black Ops 6 has brought a sigh of relief and a leap of joy. For years, we’ve been begging for this functionality, and finally, our prayers have been answered!
At last, players of Call of Duty can now save their ongoing Zombies matches in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. They can choose to save and exit a game if they wish to continue later. However, this feature is designed for single-player experiences, meaning it’s not available when playing with others. There are other new features in Black Ops 6 as well, specifically tailored for multiplayer Zombies lobbies. These include the option to join a game already in progress or rejoin one if you’re disconnected from the game.
As a dedicated Zombies run enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the addition of a ‘save and quit’ feature – something the Call of Duty community has been clamoring for years. However, it’s not without its limitations to prevent players from exploiting the system by saving during crucial moments for extra time or manipulating the server into restarting in a favorable situation.
In a groundbreaking move for the Zombies mode, Treyarch allows players to manually save their Solo matches at any point they choose, as long as they are fully healthy, not defeated (downed or dead), and not in the middle of an Exfil mission. If you want to continue from where you left off, simply load your saved file. Additionally, if you leave the game idle for a certain period, it will automatically save your game state to ensure no progress is lost!
As a long-time gamer with countless hours spent on various multiplayer games like “Black Ops 6”, I can attest to the frustration of getting disconnected during intense Zombies mode matches. That’s why I appreciate this feature that allows you to resume your game from where you left off in case of a server crash. However, it’s important to note that this only works if you have a save point already set up or if one is automatically generated upon crashing. It’s always best to save often to ensure you don’t lose progress when playing Zombies mode online.
If you’re participating in multiplayer sessions, there will be an additional feature that allows you to re-enter a game if another player drops out (as long as the host didn’t leave).
According to Treyarch, if you leave a Squad Match and the host is still active, you’ll be able to re-enter the game after watching for a short while, then resume playing.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 releases on October 25th.
