Call of Duty: Warzone Just Ruined Playlists for Solo and Duos Leaving Fans Furious

As a dedicated gamer who has spent countless hours honing my skills in Call of Duty: Warzone, I must say, Raven Software’s recent decision to consolidate playlists is like taking away a beloved pet without so much as a goodbye. I understand the need for preparation before the release of Black Ops 6, but removing Battle Royale Trios or Duos, Resurgence Solos, and Resurgence Trios (except in Ranked Play) feels like a gut punch to the Warzone community.

In a move causing quite a stir, Raven Software recently made some contentious alterations to the popular game, Call of Duty: Warzone, prior to the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Via social media platform X, Raven Software notified all Call of Duty: Warzone players about their decision to merge playlists within the game, eliminating content for both solo and duo gamers. As expected, fans of Call of Duty are expressing strong displeasure over these changes.

As we edge towards Black Ops 6, our focus shifts towards shaping Warzone’s upcoming landscape. Starting today, we are streamlining the game mode selections, which will now include: Battle Royale for Solos and Quads, and Resurgence for Duos and Quads. Plunder, Bootcamp, and active Limited-Time Modes will continue to be accessible. As previously announced, Trios will still be playable in Ranked Play, with the current season wrapping up on Thursday, October 17th. We’re excited to share more updates soon!

For now, due to unspecified reasons related to preparations for the future of Warzone, Battle Royale modes like Trios and Duos, as well as Resurgence Solos and Resurgence Trios (except in Ranked Play), are temporarily unavailable. Raven Software has not provided additional details.

The reaction to this has been incredibly and universally unfavorable. Although a few players thought playlist merging might be imminent, many were taken aback by how drastic it turned out to be.

As a gamer, I can’t help but express my disappointment with this recent move. It seems like you’re phasing out fundamental aspects of your game without providing much insight or background. A bit more transparency about the reasons behind this change would go a long way in helping us understand and adapt to it better.

“I don’t think you realize how many people will step away until black ops. So it’s either solo or find three friends to play with,” writes another.

This is actually ridiculous.

Man, it’s official! It looks like Duos is taking a break for about two months before Battle Operations Season 6 drops. Now, it seems like Trios has vanished too. Hmmm… I wonder what’s next?

This is a freaking joke lmao

Currently, neither Raven Software nor Activision nor any game-related personnel have responded to the criticism following this decision. Should that change, we’ll promptly update the story.
