Call the Midwife Fans Left Hanging – BBC Confirms Shock Schedule Change

This week’s Call the Midwife brings fans back to Poplar, but they’ll need to wait a few more weeks for the penultimate episode of season 14.

The reason for this is that the BAFTA Film Awards are scheduled to broadcast on the night of Sunday, 16th February, thereby displacing Call the Midwife’s original schedule for that day.

Episode 7 will likely be broadcast as scheduled at 8pm, exactly a week from now, which falls on Sunday, the 23rd of February.

It’s not unprecedented that the BAFTA Film Awards have disrupted the airing schedule for Call the Midwife; in fact, this occurred last year as well, with the season 13 finale being delayed by a week.

Once more, David Tennant will serve as the host of the BAFTA Film Awards. Notable movies vying for significant prizes include Conclave, Emilia Pérez, The Brutalist, Anora, Dune: Chapter Two, and Wicked.

In this week’s episode of “Call the Midwife,” Joyce encounters a challenging predicament as a new mother experiences postnatal troubles. Meanwhile, a city-wide council strike results in a surge of Weil’s disease cases, and Cyril’s life takes an unexpected turn.

Last week, the cast of the show graced the red carpet at the TopMob Covers Bash 2025, where they addressed some intriguing queries regarding their on-screen personas’ upcoming storylines.
