Call the Midwife season 14: Release date and latest news

As an old-timey movie reviewer with a penchant for all things historical and heartfelt, I must say that the news of Call the Midwife returning for seasons 14 and 15 has sent shivers down my cinematic spine! Much like the first breaths of a newborn babe, each season brings fresh stories, fresh faces, and a fresh reminder of the resilience of the human spirit.

In February 2023, it became official that Call the Midwife would continue for seasons 14 and 15, a development which creator and writer Heidi Thomas expressed great joy about.

She mentioned that everyone involved in ‘Call the Midwife’ takes great pride in their work, but what truly means the most to them is the incredible, devoted fan base.

Call the Midwife season 14 potential plot: What could happen?

As filming for Season 14 of “Call the Midwife” officially came to an end, this photograph featuring Stephen McGann and Natalie Quarry was posted on the show’s official social media platforms, accompanied by the caption: “Newest Update! Filming for Call the Midwife Series 14 has wrapped!

We’ve got the final scene of Series 14 from the Call the Midwife set, straight from the clapperboard traditionally used at the end of filming!

Previously, it was discovered that Miss Higgins possesses a grandchild, an unexpected revelation that has “entirely transformed” her life.

Upon my return, it dawned on me that things couldn’t continue as usual. Despite being the same person, I find myself in a dramatically different situation now, confiding in only a select few – Dr Turner and Nurse Crane. This revelation signifies a profound transformation in my life that I can never revert from.

Glen also mentioned that, even though her son has passed away, she’s found solace in the fact they’ve been reunited. Additionally, she’s gained a grandson, which has brought a new dimension to her life.

“It’s changed her life completely.”

Some other plotlines we anticipate include Nancy’s blossoming romance, updates on Trixie and Matthew’s marital issues and their life in New York, Cyril’s personal situation given that Lucille is still in the Caribbean, as well as the fate of Nonnatus House, among others.
