Call the Midwife’s Laura Main says May’s future is still uncertain

In contrast to the tumultuous circumstances of the previous episode, Season 14 of Call the Midwife thus far presents a peaceful situation for the Turner family, bringing a sense of relief and stability.

During May’s near-drowning incident at the beach, an official investigation was initiated against Shelagh and Patrick Turner, as a result of concerns voiced by May’s birth mother residing in Hong Kong.

And had they failed to meet the criteria, their daughter could have been removed from their care.

I have a deep affection for these kids and actors, I truly enjoy collaborating with them, and I find them simply amazing as a group. I can’t help but hope that everything is alright.

“And yes, of course, we are still technically fostering her, so there is always that concern.”

The main character hinted at seeing a little extra in the upcoming episodes, without elaborating on specific details.

It has been enjoyable in this series that the character Nurse Shelagh Turner has had a diverse range of activities, she mentioned further.

It involves both midwifery (delivering babies) and general district nursing for adults and children, including a recent case involving a special-needs child who recently lost his school placement.

“So I’ve had a lovely series of all sorts of different things. It’s been great.”
