Cameron Diaz & Jamie Foxx’s Movie Slammed with Horrible Ratings!

The highly awaited comeback of Cameron Diaz to the entertainment industry didn’t start smoothly as her latest Netflix original comedy “Back in Action” has faced unfavorable reviews from several critics.

The actress, famous for ruling the box office with movies such as The Mask, Shrek, and Charlie’s Angels, declared her withdrawal from acting in March 2018, expressing a wish to cease traveling for numerous film productions.

Yet, following this, Diaz has announced his intentions to step back into the spotlight. This new phase starts with a film titled “Back in Action” and extends further with the forthcoming comedic project “Outcome,” as well as the much-anticipated animated sequel, “Shrek 5.

It’s likely that the next two projects will receive more favorable reviews compared to Back in Action, as it currently holds a “rotten” rating of 24% on the review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes.

I’ve found myself drawn to a widely recognized platform that delves into the vast expanse of the internet in search of movie critiques. Interestingly, it calculates an approximate percentage of positive or negative ratings for each film, which at this moment, indicates that fewer than one-fourth of critics have bestowed their approval on the movie with a thumbs up.

To summarize, a majority of users on the site have given the film favorable reviews, as 62% of non-negative respondents indicated they enjoyed it. This places the movie slightly above the 60% mark needed to be considered “fresh.

At times, I’ve noticed a noticeable gap between my personal opinions and those of critics on certain movies. For instance, I’m in the minority who found Kraven the Hunter more underwhelming (16%) compared to the majority who loved it (74%). Similarly, I was part of the 57% who had mixed feelings about Mufasa: The Lion King, while an overwhelming 89% seemed to adore it. Lastly, my view on The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim places me in the minority again (48%) as I found it less engaging compared to the 82% who seemed captivated by it.

Currently, the response from Metacritic, another movie review aggregator, has been somewhat mixed towards the film “Back in Action”. They’ve awarded it a score of 47 out of 100, which, according to their system that uses specific review scores rather than positive or negative labels, suggests an average or mediocre response.

Regardless, it might be disheartening for supporters of Diaz, as she received acclaim and significant award recognition during the late ’90s and early ’00s for her roles in Being John Malkovich, Vanilla Sky, and Gangs of New York.

Despite the reviews not deterring viewers, “Back in Action” is still maintaining its number one position on Netflix UK’s most popular movies list.
