As a lifelong Peanuts fan, I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear that Apple TV+ has officially greenlit a second season of “Camp Snoopy“! The first season took me back to my childhood memories of watching Charlie Brown and his friends on television. The adventures of Snoopy and Woodstock in the great outdoors brought a sense of nostalgia and joy that I hadn’t felt in a long time.
As a devoted Peanuts fan since my childhood, I am thrilled to pieces about the recent premiere of “Camp Snoopy” on Apple TV+. Having grown up with Charlie Brown and Snoopy’s antics, it was an absolute delight to see our beloved beagle embarking on new adventures with Woodstock this summer.
When realizing their troop might disband, Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts decided to explore nature and the wonders of the Great Outdoors as a means to earn their badges. They followed the instructions in the Beagle Scout Manual for this adventure. At the same time, Charlie Brown and his companions relished their summer at Camp Spring Lake, encountering Snoopy along the way as they hiked, swam, gathered around campfires, and enjoyed all the joys of summer campsites and the outdoors.
The new Apple TV+ series, titled “Peanuts,” is a production of Peanuts and WildBrain. It derives inspiration from the classic comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz. Rob Boutilier (“The Snoopy Show,” “Snoopy in Space”) helms the director’s chair. Craig Schulz, Paige Braddock, Rob Boutilier, Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, and Logan McPherson serve as executive producers.
Last year, it became known that Apple TV was teaming up with WildBrain for a fresh Peanuts feature film, set to begin production in 2023. This isn’t the sole Peanuts project in development.
“People of all ages are fond of Peanuts on Apple TV+, as mentioned by Tara Sorensen, Apple’s children’s programming head. With an extensive collection of Peanuts titles and critically acclaimed stories that bond kids and families, Apple TV+ is the ideal platform for Snoopy and his friends. We’re thrilled to share this touching new journey with Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the gang in the city. Stay tuned for an unforgettable experience on Apple TV+.”
Craig Schulz expressed his joy in continuing his father’s Peanuts legacy with a fresh new story co-written by him and Neil. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Apple TV+ and WildBrain Studios on this project,” he shared. “Bonnie Arnold will produce, while Steve Martino directs. Peanuts enthusiasts have long awaited a new feature, and we’re eager to bring them an entertaining and heartwarming adventure that will delight fans worldwide.”
Stay tuned for updates on Season 2 of Camp Snoopy.
