Candice Miller Sued $195,000 for Unpaid Rent After Husband’s Death

As someone who has had my fair share of financial struggles and personal losses, I can only imagine the turmoil that Candice Miller must be going through right now. Losing a loved one, especially a spouse, is an unbearable pain that no one should ever have to endure. Adding to that, the burden of financial woes and lawsuits is enough to break even the strongest of spirits.

Candice Miller is facing more financial trouble.

Approximately two months following the suicide of her real estate tycoon husband Brandon Miller, a 42-year-old influencer has been officially served with a lawsuit for $194,881.89. The lawsuit, as stated in court documents acquired by TopMob News, claims she failed to pay for the usage and occupation of a Park Avenue residence in New York City.

According to papers submitted by Mak Acquisitions, Candice, who resided with Brandon and their two daughters in a five-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom house, moved out at the end of August. However, she allegedly owes four months’ worth of unpaid rent amounting to $47,000 for April and May 2024, as well as $49,000 for June and July 2024, as stated in the documents. This debt on the property reportedly belongs to the owner of the apartment unit.

Additionally, the records show that Candice’s apartment was billed $881.89 for a plumbing bill dated in March. However, her security deposit of $47,000 was applied to the August rent, leaving a remaining balance of $2000 from the increase in rent in June.

The total amount stated in the documents filed on September 1 suggests that the former blogger for Mama & Tata lifestyle, identified as Candice, is indebted to the tune of $194,881.49, accruing a yearly interest rate of 9%. These court papers further claim that Candice deliberately profited from actions deemed unjust, disadvantaging her apartment’s owner in the process.

TopMob News has reached out to Candice Miller for comment but has not yet heard back.

43-year-old Brandon took his own life at the Millers’ Hamptons residence on July 3. According to a Suffolk County law enforcement official, who spoke with The New York Times, this tragic event occurred while Brandon’s family was enjoying their vacation in the Amalfi Coast. The official also mentioned that Brandon wrote a note stating that a crucial business deal he had relied on to alleviate his family’s financial difficulties had failed.

After her husband passed away, Candice’s joint Instagram account with her sister Jenna Crespi was shut down. In August, she listed their Hamptons residence for sale at a price of $15.5 million.

Even though Candice, who knew Brandon since childhood, hasn’t publicly commented on his passing or her ongoing legal matters, a representative communicated to The New York Times that the family is deeply mourning his death.

The representative explained that Candice is deeply saddened, having lost her one true love. Similarly, the sudden absence of their father will indelibly affect her two little girls.
