As a longtime fan of the classic Mega Man series, I’ve grown up with this iconic franchise and hold it close to my heart. The thrill of mastering each new robot master’s abilities, the excitement of exploring new levels, and the satisfaction of defeating the final boss are memories that have shaped my gaming experiences over the years.
Capcom has successfully steered franchises like “Resident Evil” and “Monster Hunter” for many years. However, other Capcom-owned brands haven’t fared as well. For example, “Mega Man,” which has long been a fan favorite and successful IP for Capcom, has seen a decline in significance recently. Most of its recent releases have merely been collections of earlier games, with only 2018’s “Mega Man 11” being a new addition to the series.
As a long-time fan of the Mega Man series, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment every time I hear that there’s no concrete answer yet as to when we can expect new installments in the franchise. I’ve grown up with this iconic character, and the thought of having to wait indefinitely for the next adventure is disheartening.
Capcom expressed that Mega Man is a prized intellectual property of theirs, and they are actively thinking about developing new games for it.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve eagerly awaited the latest addition to the Mega Man series since the release of Mega Man 11 back in October 2018. While Capcom hasn’t left us completely high and dry, they have given us some wonderful collections to tide us over. But will we get a new mainline installment soon? That’s still uncertain. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope that the success of these re-releases will inspire Capcom to give us more new adventures with our beloved blue bomber.
